That 3rd quarter really did not set us up to win.

They took the paint away with Kornet blocking everything that came around. I don't even know if that was the Celtics' game plan, or if a light bulb went off on Kornet's head.

They called 5 fouls on Brunson in that quarter. Has that ever happened to him? Rather than rest him at the start of the 4th, Thibs decided to just continue playing him until he fouled out.

I really think it's more complicated than the Knicks not playing hard enough or the Celtics wanting it more. If the players are talking about needing to see film, they know it too.

We were good until that 3rd quarter collapse.

Game has been over for the past 3 hours and I’m still angry.

Like these guys are just so frustrating to watch. I really don’t understand how they can play the way they did in game 4, but look like completely **** tonight. It’s just so embarrassing.

Thibs just out there with his brain turned off in the 3rd quarter. Like, wtf is he still making these amateurish mistakes this later in the season? It’s super concerning how unprepared they looked during the second half.

If we move on, Indiana gonna rain 3's on us with Thibs coaching MALPRACTICE. He is what is holding this team back.

Yea, they played physical and the refs gave them call after call after call
That’s what happened
And everytime we got closer, the refs killed the momentum and called a foul on someone

This is how we win game 6
OG on Brown
Mikal on White
Brunson on jrue
Hart on KP (it should be Mitch starting but Thibs is an Idiot)
KAT on horford

THATS IT, STOP LETTING WHITE SHOOT THE DAMN BALL

Some fluke things happened man. Luke Kornet just had a Jerome James '05 Playoffs type of performance.

Wally has some good analysis on here.

KP is a non-factor

They're gonna go with Kornet.

We need the double big lineup of KAT and Mitch physically overwhelm Kornet and kill whatever confidence he gained this game.

I swear if KAT gets outplayed by Kornet like that again…

Just embarrassing.

This isn’t flukey anymore. It’s who they are. They just lose total focus and are not engaged and prepared.

Like I am really down on KAT and Thibs. Whatever happens this postseason (barring a finals appearance) those 2 in particular need to be re-evaluated.

That's not true. We couldn't pay iHart. We had full Bird rights on OG and only Early Bird rights on iHart. We offered him the biggest contract we could but okc could offer almost double annually.

I know Cap, I was just angry in the moment

I don't understand how as a coach you allow your team to come in this unprepared to an elimination game to go to the ECF. It just makes everything that happened in this series up until now look like dumb luck. How is chasing White off the 3 pt line not the primary focus of the defense in this game? I just need to know what was the point of emphasis for thibs going into this.

Not even going to talk about offense cus we never have a clue regardless. It must be so frustrating being on this team watching brunson and hart play buddy ball because the coach is too stupid to try a different lineup. I think guys started giving kornet blocks on purpose to subliminally show thibs "hey maybe sub out hart so their center doesn't just camp the paint". How many times this season has a halfway decent team just parked the center on hart and it completely kills our offense.

ngl I am so incredibly mad and pissed right now.
how can you have a chance to advance to the conference finals for the first time in 25 years and come out like THIS???
Hart and Mitch were basically the only two showing up (partly including Deuce).
KAT started strong and completely vanished. Brunson was abysmal imo, despite solid numbers.
And good lord OG. Worst player on the floor by a 100 miles.
Also really really bad Thibs game. How does this team always come out of the locker room like this? in the 1st and 3rd quarter??? And can he finally cut Payne from the rotation?
jesus man, what a **** desaster.

Even though I knew it was coming, it didn't matter. I have a nagging feeling it is more than just an inability to close out type loss, there is probably something bigger at play here and dear lord if the worst case scenario happens, holy ****.

I thought the ptsd of the garden was gone after we won last game but the way we lost this one, I think it completely brought it back. I'm now 100% sure the garden will be tight as **** with massive ptsd in game 6.

Silver wants game 6 at MSG and to keep the playoffs rolling. This 3rd quarter was one of the most blatant fix jobs of recent memory. Most FTA Celtics had in a quarter this series was 11 and that was 1st quarter game 1 while refs were feeling out the series. They've averaged 21 FTA per game this series.

20 FTA in the 3rd quarter alone plus 5 fouls on brunson in the quarter alone is just completely obvious and sad really.

The corruption is out in the open now, it's not like Silver needs to worry about the feds.

I see some people saying they can’t believe how flat they came out, that’s the thing, they didn’t come out flat..they were up 40-32 in the second quarter. So this idea they didn’t come ready to play is not true. The 3rd quarter of doom is what changed the game..
