Okay let's play this out. What does a trade for Durant look like - Without giving up melo?

I imagine they'd want Miles given their previous rumored interest, but no I don't think we'd be real contenders against the Western conference heavyweights. But with Tatum out most of the year and Giannis potentially going out West our conference is going to be trash.

Durant is also very outspoken against tanking, he'd make sure this organization got its **** together and actually competed every night. If things went right I definitely think winning a playoff series or two would be possibe.

If KD was ok coming here my offer would be...

Bridges/Green/#4/Dal 1st

I'm not trading both picks we already giving them #4 this year. KD is 37 he's not worth what he once was.

I actually forgot about the injuries. We definitely could make a run now that I think about it.

I'd offer them those 3 firsts and a future first from us. If they insisted on the 4th pick as well that would be too much for me. Miles and 4 first round picks is more than enough (or should be).

I feel like the cost will be too high and the window too short with Durant. I don't think hes a good trade target tbh.

110 percent agree.

Same. Knee capping our future by giving up long term assets for MAYBE 2 or 3 years of production is not a good idea IMO.

I'm ok using Miles and picks to upgrade our rotation, but it needs to be for a long term piece.

If we're going to be giving up such high value draft capital, then we need to use it on a player that our roster can grow with. KD is just wouldn't fit unless we made major, wholesale changes and then we could just end up looking like the Suns. Plus I can't imagine he'd ever want to come here.

Now if it involved taking KD + Beal and sending them matching salary and some future picks? I would do that because we're not mortgaging everything we have for 2-3 seasons. We'd be mortgaging like the Miami and Dallas picks (Rozier and PJ Washington) to put players around our core that know how to win.

What? lol.

Hell No.

KD is in the last year of his deal at age 36, this is not even close to the correct value.

This thread had a poll that KD was worth 4-8 in the draft. So yeah no chance in hell he is worth 4+ 3 firsts and Miles Bridges.

The whole point of trading for someone like Durant is to bring a serious professional attitude to the locker room. Someone that is there to play basketball and win, not goof around like a child. Guys like Grant Williams and Taj Gibson are good for that, but to really change team culture you need a player that commands respect from everyone.

Yeah, it would be better to trade for someone like that who's younger than Durant, such as Bam Adebayo, but those guys usually aren't available. Good organizations make their own opportunities and absent that they take advantage of what's available. They don't sit back and hope for an opportunity that may never come.

That's one of the reasons I'd trade #4 for him but i wouldn't exceed it by adding extra picks

I am 100% against trading a top 5 pick for a 37 year old on an expiring contract. That just seems crazy to me.

Also anyone thinking KD is going to bring the leadership qualities needed to change our culture haven't tracked KD's history too closely, he's not that guy.

Hey I don't have any f****** clue what it would cost to get Kevin Durant in a trade. I was just throwing some s*** at the wall as a starting point.

We all moan n complain about Lamelo's injury history and people want to give up multiple 1st round picks for KD who'll be 37 in September and who's injury history is just as bad as Balls been :banghead:

KD-Melo-Miller-Mark would miss a combined 120 games and end up playing 5 and a half games together before KD asked out either at the deadline or 2026 offseason

If the Hornets make an attempt at Kuminga, most would assume Miles would be involved in the trade, but realistically it would probably be Mark. Warriors desperately need an actual big and our relationship with Mark is likely beyond repair.

Plus I bet the two involved players would have similar costing contracts. Both shown glimpses of allstar potential but have major red flags, Kuminga's being his IQ and Mark's being his lack of back.

I perosnally want Kuminga on this roster, but would want to do it at the expense of Miles and not Mark.

Nah Kuminga has red flags. I read a report he was ignoring Curry on the sidelines. They literally benched him towards the end of the season. He only played because Curry got hurt.

Athletic player, but he doesn't seem like he contributes to winning basketball.
