SAS, Rockets, OKC are in the driver seat imo....Only way we outbid them teams is if he wants to legit come here over them 3 teams...And he demands us....Which is possible but idk how likely that is from a basketball point of view....Go play with the 50+ win team Rockets, The Wemby/Fox Spurs, The Team that might win the NBA title and team up with an MVP like Shai, or the Ingram/IQ/Yak Raptors....Tough to call it...
We would prolly have to give up RJ/Barnes + 9th pick , And multiple firsts to get it done....Whats that team look like in a competitive POV....Ofc you pull the trigger if you are the Raptors but will Giannis like that team over what he can potentially play with on the other teams?...

Why though? Not asking to be pedantic, genuinely want to hear the arguments. I would love nothing more than to be swayed lol.
Assuming he is intrigued by Toronto, 2 questions that stand out to me, that his team will undoubtedly have:
1) What is going on with Masai's contract status?
2) What is the contingency plan if/when Ingram goes down?
I suppose there could be a 3rd very important one about what is going on at C. There is only one legit C on the roster and he's entering his potential walk year.
All valid points, but I wouldn't be too concerned about #3. Realistically, Giannis would probably play a lot of 5 for us and would be one of the best centres in the league. He's seven feet tall, super long and jacked. And I think it's safe to say that Jakob would be extended.
#1 is a valid point, because I'm sure Giannis' relationship with Masai would be a key selling factor. #2 is a bit irrelevant. We just saw Tatum get injured for a year, and it's happened to guys like Klay, Durant, Dame. Assuming we wouldn't completely decimate our depth to get Giannis, this roster could probably win a lot of games with Ingram on the sidelines.
I think it's a safe enough assumption that Giannis would accept a trade here, and would be a lot more willing to come to Toronto than Kawhi was.
I'd be way more concerned about getting beat out by other teams. The biggest issue is that any team that gets Giannis will probably see their own pick lose a lot of value. So teams like Houston, OKC and Brooklyn would have way more valuable picks to trade. Us getting Giannis would depend almost entirely on the Bucks head office loving Scottie.
The reason I mentioned the Center question is because Giannis is on record as not really wanting to play that position. He will do it when necessary but only in spurts and has been vocal about it not being his preference or natural position.
The reason I bring up Ingram is because people keep mentioning him up as Giannis' eventual sidekick here. While that could be true, when he is healthy, it stands to reason that his people would ask about the backup plan if BI goes down. It's an entirely valid question that his people would ask. He is not coming here to play with IQ and Agbaji, come on. Fun fact, Middleton and Porzingis, who are pilloried around here for being injury prone, have each played more games over the last 4 years than Ingram.

Re: [Perkins] - "Don't Sleep On Toronto For Giannis"
I could see Giannis wanting to come to Toronto because of his relationship with Masai, the international market, and staying in the much weaker Eastern Conference. A lineup of Giannis, Ingram, Poeltl, Barrett, and Quickley would also be good enough to compete for a top 4 playoff seed next season.
The offer would likely be Barnes, Dick, Agbaji, and draft picks. Whether that is good enough to beat out other offers would depend on how much Milwaukee likes Barnes.

Re: [Perkins] - "Don't Sleep On Toronto For Giannis"
Here's the thing.
If we do go after him which I'm guessing we will. He just needs to come out and say he wants Toronto and I'm sure there will be 2 other teams. Knowing Giannis, he will want a competitive enough team if he goes to any situation so that would mean the bucks would not have much leverage if the player already expressed his desire to go to a certain team. I'm sure the bucks should be willing to fulfil these requests as Giannis has done so much for them and has been loyal.
Also, Masai won't trade Scottie that would be the last resort and in future if needed he will trade him for another player or so.

Fair points. That said, we'd be trading for him so we don't really need him to agree to come here. Why wouldn't he come here to play with IQ and Agbaji? I can't see him declining the trade and ending his career at 30. Even Kawhi didn't do that.

Won't be sucked into this until it actually is confirmed by a source like Shams that Giannis has us on the top of his list....Then you rub your palms.
Actually, a lie. Kawhi rumors weeks before the trade. My original name is kawhiraptors. Check my join date. Before kawhi trade
Kawhi to Toronto odds by date
July 11, 2018: +200
July 12-18, 2018: even
Can you find odds from earlier than a week before the trade? I think they weren't even on the radar as a destination by July 1st, 2018.

I don't think a deal is possible without trading Barnes....This is a top 3 player we are talking about still in his prime....You won't get him for a couple of draft picks, RJ/Dick/Cap filler.....Without Barnes on the table Bucks don't even entertain us...

This is it I guess. Masai has done it before and pulled the trigger. Surely his relationship with Giannis helps too.
Package will have to surround Barnes, Dick and a bunch of 1st rounders I imagine.
Honestly this trade would me back to a Raptors fan full time. I think Ujiri has to use his Nigerian connection and make it happen. Whats the point if its not to win?

Exactly. And if anything Barnes is the perfect player to trade. He a similar prototype to Giannis in terms of playing style. If wouldn't even be a good fit pairing those 2 together in our starting froncourt. Ingram is much better fit next to Giannis.
Honestly a starting lineup of Quickey-Barrett-Ingram-Giannis-Poetl instantly becomes the best starting 5 in the East with the Tatum out next season.
With a proper bench and a somewhat wide open NBA next season again whose to say we don't pull a Kawaii season again?

Every situation is lightyears better than Milwaukee man.
Giannis wants to be on a contender at this point in his career, Giannis, Ingram and Quickley is not a contender
You forgot Barrett or am I missing something? is he out next season?
Name a better starting 5 than Quickley-Barrett-Ingram-Giannia-Poetl in the East>

Yep but i feel this deal only becomes even possible is if Giannis demands a trade to Toronto because other teams will outbid us for Giannis cause he is a top 3 player in the NBA...The teams with the assets will throw out everything they have....It will be hard for us to compete with a few teams if it becomes just a bidding war and Giannis is fine going anywhere....
If he says Toronto is where i want to be....That gives us leverage in a deal but Barnes/Dick And maybe one of our other young promising players + Picks prolly has to be on the table....We get Giannis in the door and figure out the depth or other additions later...

Tough part is making the salaries work before the draft. Scottie's extention only kicks in after the draft so there would have to be a verbal agreement with the Bucks prior the draft in order for the Raps to select a player the Bucks want with #9.

Yep this is where still having Masai helps.
If the stories about how Giannis got his Greek citizenship is true and that our President was an intangible part of his story growing up, not to mention both of them having Nigerian background, surely, and I mean surely, Giannis owes Masai this favour to push a trade request to only Toronto.
I just hope this relationship we always talk about online comes to fruition.

Is this a joke? 3 non shooters in that starting line up, 2 good defenders, and no bench.

It's a good point, but I don't think it's realistic that Giannis will demand a trade to only Toronto, and even if he did, I don't think that would stop other franchises from getting him. He's got three years left on his deal, and I can't imagine him refusing to show up and play for any of the teams in the league. If they trade him, he'll go to the team that has the package that the Bucks like best. He doesn't have a no-trade clause, and won't need to sign off on a trade. They could trade him to Washington and he'd probably go.
