This kinda tells me we might be leaning for a ready now rotation player. Kam can easily play both guard spots off the bench.

A 23 Yo PG shooting 64% FT

I'll puke

Yeah i wish Kam Jones was a better shooter at his age. Id much rather bank on Clayton if they want a mature guard. Or just go with a younger guard who has more upside.

The Heat usually take longer to announce workouts, but this site has been good about tracking in previous years.

I did a deep dive last year and the Heat have an extremely high probability of taking someone who worked out and interviewed with them. If your favorite prospect hasn’t come in for a workout with us we are likely not selecting or interested in that player. Last year Ware, Larrson, and Keldon Johnson all worked out for us.

Some of the 2-ways are verbally offered during the combine. It helps players make a decision to stay in the draft or not.

Also trade conversation are going on during the combine

I like Pettiford and followed Auburn closely this year but I can see the Heat being turned off by his size. Think he’s clocking in at 6’1 and a slim 175 and will probably get abused early on defensively. Might not be a good pairing with Herro. I think our true preference are guards with NBA ready bodies that are in the 200 pound range. You look at someone like Kam Jones and it’s the exact archetype body wise they are looking for. No surprise they are looking into him.

Zyon Pullin and Isiah Stevens last year. We had them in very early in the process

Yeah and Ware was one of the last guys posted last year. I didn't think they were interested because of the motor rumors. But then he popped up along with several other bigs like Zach Edey, and it became clear what direction they were probably going.

Personally, I hope they get to Pettiford so he stays in the draft.

He would have been the much better developmental prospect that the Heat like over Isiah Stevens. Spo wouldn't even look Stevens way. Pullin was a lead guard at 6'4 200. Could have been developed like Dru Smith. Case in point be careful projecting smallish guards to us. We already have to deal with with a thin two guard with a 6'3 wingspan in Herro.

I wish Pullin stayed too, but the kid didn't pop any chance he got. Stevens was just better especially in Summer league. Same with all the sgs like Larrson and Josh Christopher. He had to find somewhere with more playing time.

One thing I did look up about Stevens

Measured 5′ 11.0” barefoot, 7′ 11.00” standing reach, 182 lbs, 6′ 4.00” wingspan, 28.5 standing vert, 35 max vert

If any of these little guards can beat this, while actually being effective they might have a chance

I don’t think Stevens will be on a 2 way next year

Stevens and Pullin were undrafted in a weak draft, these are late first round prospects in a good draft, I hope their talent level would makes the difference

Hell to the No, please no more Winslows. We need shooters and table setters. No more "Hey, he might be good at these things, maybe we can help him learn how to shoot". Just no, get me someone that can shoot right now, that we can help be more consistent.

Clayton Jr looks like a dead eye 3 point shooter
