Curry got to stay.

Keep Jimmy, I guess.

Good luck, Draymond.

It's getting harder to disagree with the sentiment but let me ask, how do we maintain the best defense in the league (post Jimmy trade) if we move dray?

I’ve been told since the team lost in ‘23 to the lakers that the team can’t win without Draymond and he then proceeded to torpedo two seasons and is now just jogging around getting used like a bar of soap by Randle.

I’m ready to find a replacement that can play some D and not be ignored on offense.

He was one of the main reasons we beat Hou, had the end to the season that we did, and when he's not able to bring it on defense, we give up 120 on a regular basis. I don't like the antics or the 'woe is me' narrative he has. On the court, I still don't think he's any more replaceable than Steph.

I feel like post can do that job next year. Instead of trading jk for a draft pick, how about we keep him and get a backup 5 that might be ready for a fake starting role (mamu, obi, goga, kornet)? Reid would be perfect but we cant afford 30m/yr. Maybe brook can still do enough to play ~25 good min.

That way we can keep moody, jk, podz, etc for their improved play or as the package for the next guy.

How is post going to reduce drays minutes when he can’t defend and is unplayable in the playoffs? Post will never be a defensive anchor. Of the people you mentioned maybe goga can play 20 min without dray. Sorber though is probably a better defender out of the gate than all of them.

I don't now how much better defensively a rookie center will be as compared to Post in year 2. His defense improved throughout this year, albeit from a very low point, and I expect him to be decent on that end next year - IN THE REGULAR SEASON. If the goal is to reduce dray's minutes, I expect post to be able to do so just fine. I hope we bring back loon on the vet min and have him be the backup, as opposed to overpaying for a vet or using assets to trade into the first to get a C. If we were to use real assets on the center position, I hope we go all in and try for Naz, KP, or someone of that ilk. If not, that's not the position that hurt us this season or in these playoffs.

This is not a reflection of the rookie you're trying to draft. I'm just unsure any rookie, especially a center we're bringing in for defense, can positively impact winning in years 1 & 2. Despite his struggles, I have more faith in JK and Moody being contributors next season and especially come playoff time, than I would any rookie, Flagg included. Rookie wall, speed of the game, physicality of the playoffs, opponent scouting reports/game plans, are all a bit too much to overcome for most rookies and 2nd year players. When you have the added pressure of getting Steph ring #5, I don't think it's the way to go.

Love the DSJ idea and I think we're in decent position to hunt the scraps of the teams about to fall apart: Mem, LAC, Bos. Batum, Aldama, Pritchard, KP, etc. may all be available for the right price. Bigger fish are still out there. We have enough of our own future picks and may be able to cobble together enough salary to attract a star. Sure, a first tier star would have to force his way here for us to be able to beat the offers an OKC or Hou can put together but for secondary stars, it may be more realistic (Derrick White level or last year's PG, etc.).

You're right realistically rookies do not win in the playoffs. I'm just in draft mode currently and TB brought up trading for a 1st.

Actually thinking more about it, you're not going to find a 2way big any other way than through a major trade or through the draft. They just don't hit the open market unless they're flawed. You might be able to find a wing that can shoot and not be a complete sieve on defense or a defender that might make some shots (Gary Harris, Malik Beasley, NAW, Jake LaRavia, Alec Burks, Taurean Prince, Gary Trent, Lonnie Walker, Keon Ellis, hell maybe Moody can finally fill this role). Like seriously a Curry/Beasley/Buddy/Jimmy/Dray lineup doesn't sound all too bad to me. MM to come in if we need more defense, or Podz to come in for more swiss army knife, DSJ to give us elite poa defense if needed. But getting a big that can anchor a defense and be a threat to score is something we've never had. I mean I agree it's highly highly unlikely Sorber will be ready to play real playoff minutes, but if he can give us 10-15 mpg in the playoffs to give Dray a rest for the other 33-38.

i guess what sounds better Curry/White/Buddy/Jimmy/Dray with TJD and Post who have proven to be unplayable against Houston and Minnesota? Or Curry/Beasley/Buddy/Jimmy/Dray and the hope Sorber might be able to give us 10 minutes against Houston and Minnesota? I think I like the later better.

Trading JK for a draft pick just resets the 2nd timeline.

I'll take derrick white over beasley + anyone in this draft not named Flagg and I don't think it's that close

I also think Post, Podz, and maybe MM will all contribute significantly more next playoffs after this embarrassment. Post and Podz should def come back hungry and much improved next season. Podz has finally been humbled (i hope) and Post sees the ways he's being attacked. I am probably too high on Post, at least as a regular season contributor next year. Also, as long as Dray and Jimmy are on the team, Dray's the 5 in closing lineups and in games that really matter. I would love a true stretch 5 and had we gone after Myles a few years ago, I would have been ecstatic. Like you said, no real way to get a true stretch 5 outside of the draft or a massive trade. I don't even think we can cobble together the money to match KPs' contract unless we're moving Dray, at which point, it's all moot.

I'm so ready to watch a new version of the Warriors. LOVE Curry.....but the hammy is just the start of a slow death while trying to win one more :(

If Lacob had balls, he'd trade Jimmy, Steph, Draymond and get whatever draft picks and young talent he can and blow it up.

That certainly is an option. Or should be. But I'd prefer we trade Moody, Podz, JK and draft picks and try to win another title in the next few years. I hate the idea of keeping the kids and keeping the vets.

It hasn't worked and it won't work.

Really don't see too many teams giving up a lot of assets to take on big contracts of players in their mid and late 30s.

Even though I think Curry can still be All-NBA for the next couple of seasons while Green could make more All-Defense teams if motivated enough.

The prospect of watching Jimmy and Draymond mail it in for the regular season next year is deflating. I've never been less excited.

As long as steph is healthy, that will not happen. I expect those 3 to motorboat teams when they're on the court.

The same Draymond who’s admitted in the past he can’t get up for a game and the regular season?

The same Jimmy Butler who wrote his career has hosted during the regular season?

Well, yeah.

But why are we even talking about Derrick White? He may be the Celtic least likely to be traded, given his qualities as a player and his (relatively modest) contract.

Because he’s likely their best valued trade piece. Jrue will cost assets to move off of. Kp might as well. They aren’t trading Tatum. Maybe they trade brown but then they’re really giving up on the season.

They’re going to have to trade someone most likely since being a 2nd apron team and not making the finals 2 years in a row is not sustainable.

no he is still the best defender in the league. Fix the shooting and playmaking then we are fine.

At some point his lack of offense is going to offset his defense. We can argue over if it’s already happened but if you don’t believe that is the case it’s going to happen soon. I know one thing. His stats for the Minnesota series were awful.

Simple,
The first thing is to find very reliable 3 and D guy next to Curry. Melton was showing signs he is just that guy right before he got injured. Him if you can rely on his health or someone like him.
Secondly, find reliable backup PG to come off the bench with Podz next to him. who can take over on the short basis without missing much beat if Curry gets injured.
Thirdly, I hope JK still has or had upgraded his value back with the last few games. S & T for someone like Cam Johnson or the kind. Someone who is the scorer but with the feel for the game.
Fourthly, reliable shooters, shooters and shooters off the bench. I am looking at Boston and they have all those white stiffs coming off the bench and all they do is shoot 3s. But boy, that shooting is something else. Where do they pull them out from?
I am not sure what to do for the C spot. They have 3 and none who is the legit one. And none of the 3 is tradable.

Who knows what GM Lacob will cook this offseason. Couple of years ago they had this year's all likely title team in their hands and threw it away.

If some team signs JK to an offer sheet, Warriors have to match it if they can't do a sign and trade.

If nothing else, an asset to trade away later.

The idea they trade dray this offseason is crazy. They clearly have a 2 year timeline with the old heads. As long as Steph is here dray will be here.

Need to find a legit center for the first time since Bogut

It’s a consideration. Not because I want him moved but I think he’s the most tradable asset not named Steph. I don’t think he’s directly replaceable in any realistic sense but it’s a potential pathway to reshaping the team that we wouldn’t otherwise be able to do. Frankly I’d rather move Butler but I don’t think he has much value.
