Maybe it's just me but seeing overhyped teams like this lose always brings a smile to my face. A team with Mitchell as the 1st option and Dlo with some speed as your main playmaker is going nowhere unless every other player on that team is shooting lights out or the competition flat out sucks.

You're right having zero guards and constantly losing in the 1st round is a much better option.Dennis Reynolds wrote:Maybe it's just me but seeing overhyped teams like this lose always brings a smile to my face. I'm not saying my team is a contender and neither is anyone else, that's the big difference. You are trying to make it personal but my issue isn't with the Cavs, it's with teams that are considered a contender whose main options have no business being the main options on a contender. "Of course they're a contender, did you not see their record and their net rating" talk while completely ignoring all the red flags of a team will always be hilarious to me and I'll always be happy to see those people proven wrong.
It's also funny to see a fan of 2nd round fodder team talk down to a 1st round fodder team. Congrats on losing 4-1 in the 2nd round for the 2nd year in a row, must be hard suffering from so much success.

Sure, if we looked at it in a vacuum, that would be so.Dennis Reynolds wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:You're right having zero guards and constantly losing in the 1st round is a much better option.Dennis Reynolds wrote:Maybe it's just me but seeing overhyped teams like this lose always brings a smile to my face. I prefer to not be that obtuse. I watched all 5 games, even attending 1 in person. I am well versed on the context of the series.
But sure, go off bro, point and laugh at the 'frauds'.

Solid team. They have a great defensive front line and really solid guards including Mitchell as an all NBA guy. Depth seems good as well. 64 wins and a 9.5 net diff is pretty special. They are young so I think will come back better next year. Big payroll starting next year so on the clock to make it past the second round or make some changes

They really could have used a guy like Caris Lavert

Did they trade him for Hunter?
I feel like Hunter is a really good player, he’d be the 3rd best player on the Bucks lol assuming Dame was playing
With Dame out he’d be the 2nd best player

? He's paid less next year, about the same the year after.
You're right. His contract is 20mm, but it does jump up to 28mm, 30mm and 32mm after next season (25-26). My issue with him is that he's just as capable of playing like Wendell Carter Jr or someone like that. He never imposes his will on a game in any facet.
Obviously the contracts of Strus and Okoro are huge problems, but I just wish people would stop calling Cleveland a talented 4-some. It's Mitchell and Mobley and then some guys, who can't really trust when the going gets tough. I have no beef with the Cleveland fans or franchise, but I have seen these guys enough that I stand by my opinion.

Yeah. He was involved in the Hunter Trade.

I think teams in second apron can’t get vet minimum contracts.
But it's moot because Adams is about to get PAID this summer.
The bugger DESERVES it too. Happy for him, if not for my own plans to get him...

I don’t see an obvious solution here. Move away from garland but I don’t know what his market is.
My question is : can you win a championship with Donovan as your best player? I don’t think so, but they can’t really blow the team because of this.

Garland + Mobley for Giannis is a pretty great package for both sides
Mitchell as a #2 could really pop with Giannis pressuring the rim

It's not possible under the current CBA.GiannisAnte34 wrote:Mamba81p wrote:I don’t see an obvious solution here. Move away from garland but I don’t know what his market is.

The Cavs cannot combine/package/aggregate contracts in trades, as a 2nd apron team.
Mobley + Garland is an illegal trade.

What if they did two separate trades?
Mobley for package
Garland for package
Send it all to Bucks for Giannis

No. The 'send it all' to the Bucks is still illegal.GiannisAnte34 wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:It's not possible under the current CBA.GiannisAnte34 wrote:

The only way the 2nd apron Cavs could financially trade for Giannis is by having one contract that matched his $54,126,450. The Cavs have zero contracts that large.

Re: Post Mortem #23 - Cleveland Cavaliers
There's some similarities to the 2022 Suns team that won 64 games but lost to Dallas in 7.
By chasing the league's best record that led to a few key injuries towards the end of the season and I think they were sort of worn out by chasing that record and we all know what happened against Dallas.
With Tatum likely out next year the East is wide open so no major changes should be made if you ask me.

No, it's not and it's not possible anyways so it doesn't matter.
