I’m nearsighted, don’t need to wear glasses to read a book, but in my most recent script update the optometrist broke it to me that my distance vision will need to be dialled up that bit more that it’ll mess with my short vision a little and I’d need to move into the world of multifocal lenses.
Just picked up my first pair, wowsers they’re a bit of a mind trick/headache inducing to wear at the start!
I have always had excellent vision, but presbyopia is starting to set in so I bought some 1.25 readers off the shelf. I don't NEED them, but I work on a computer all day and then look at my phone and read for another hour or two at night. It helps me avoid feeling fatigued and stave off headaches at the end of the day.
I’m on a computer screen all day, too- that’s what initially got me. I initially only needed a pretty modest script and didn’t need to wear them to drive etc. but it did make a massive difference towards the end of the day, clearly I’d been squinting/straining without realising it and getting the same fatigue and headaches. Such a huge relief.
