Just a few weeks ago Udonis disrespects Wade to his face with “jimmy has higher basketball iq than you and lebron”.. yea how that basketball iq worked out.. i said it then, dont be that weird guy who just say things to make a headline on TV..

There was a series where Wade faced a loaded Celtics team with the Tito Jacksons and he was able to win ONE game by himself to avoid a sweep.

All the Warriors needed was one game where Butler delivered to get steph back in Game 6 and he failed pathetically.

This notion that Butler had no help in Miami when we saw Duncan Robinson, Gabe Vincent, Jae Crowder, Caleb Martin play out of their minds to clinch big victories in different series… and thats just the bench, obviously Bam and Dragic had bigger moments.

But it was definitely not Butler doing everything by himself here lol

Take away the restricted guys. Here's the list

Luka, Fox - likely to sign extension this summer
Kyrie, Dame - coming off major injury. Dame probably opts in
James Harden, Lebron - old and likely resign with their current teams

So that leaves KD and a bunch of mostly tier 3 or at best tier 2 stars: Trae, Bridges, Jaren Jackson Jr, Lavine, CJ ,McCollum, Julius Randle. Fred VanVleet, Anfernee Simmons

KD too old, Trae too small and Bridges/JJJ are 3rd options

Chances are likely there won't be a franchise cornerstone in the market in FA. You are going to have to get that guy via trade or via draft

Just look at Butler, Luka, AD, KD... of last season. Stars decide to get out, or teams make crazy unexpected moves. KD ended up not getting moved, but, virtually every year, there will be unexpected stars wanting out or becoming available depending on how the season or the contract talks progress.

And usually do not have the assets to execute a trade for any of them unless we include Bam

Exactly. You go out there and try to get more picks. Use your expirings to take on contracts for picks, trade vets. And wait till the right guy becomes available. Don't waste what little assets you have and the expiring contracts on a 37 year old

In this apron era taking on that much in dead money to sit is cap suicide. Heat have had to suffer at the hands of dead cap money for years harboring Rozier and Duncan’s contracts which have been cap crippling and now leaving us scrambling to be under the tax line this year to avoid the repeater.

what is the possibility that Rozier takes all the memes and negative criticisms as fuel for the summer then comes back a productive plus player? The FO would be stuck with thinking is it fools gold or actually a change

My Darkhorse guy to watch is LeBron James and how that situation develops this summer, I feel like it might make sense for the Lakers to move on from him because they are going to need to start thinking about retaining Luka who now without the super max may have strong incentive to re enter the market. LeBron will be able to pick his destination with the ability to opt out and could go sign and trade for a year+1. I think this would make really strong sense for the Heat. I would also not mind having Bronny as a developmental project in the organization.

We have done more with lesser talent, and I think fully developed he has a similar skill set to Davion Mitchell. This would allow you to retain both Bam and Herro and get your go to guy for maybe a pick swap JJJ and matching salary. LeBron played in 70 games last year at 40 years old averaging 24/8/8 on 50+% shooting. LeBron could slide into the 1 for us, and give us the facilitator the offense needs to start being productive.

The way the East looks next year this is a viable path for LeBron moving forward. The key has always been under the mat. Everybody thinks Riley was talking about KD when everything he said could easily be applied to LeBron as well. One last team up for the best player in a generation with one of the best executives/coaches the game has seen. I am down.

I also would not mind whatsoever when Riley steps down that Miami becomes a place for guys like Wade, LeBron etc to be involved and maybe even have some type of ownership stake. It would be a great mending of fences, and a transition to a new era. I know Mickey does not want to set a bad precedent with discounted shares, but when you talk about guys like that being involved post retirement you have to consider the value that can bring to your team as well.

By all accounts he was healthy last year. Looked good for the first few games until the team meeting where he got neutered and he was never the same since. I'll stand by what I said that he is who he is at this point, I was never pounding the table for the guy to be here anyway but I do appreciate his professionalism while he's been part of this team. It's not easy for someone with his resume to ride the pine but he never threw coach or teammates under the bus, never stopped cheering for his guys. It's just unfortunate we bought a lemon.

He played so inexplicably bad it was like he lost his ability to hoop. I do think things like neck and certain shoulder issues can do that to a basketball player. You start dealing with nerves and kinetic chain with guys who rely on muscle memory built up over a lifetime and things can get weird. Fultz always comes to mind when I look at situations like this.
