I dunno. Would make too many try to tank still. I'd rather give all the play in teams and worse an even chance at it. And the better teams a small chance at it. Could be a good time for all involved

I’m usually not the one to believe conspiracy theories, but I think this was rigged. 3 straight fifth picks/ no all star game love/ malice at the police. Luka going to LA was overall a win for every owner in a small way, Dallas was hesitant of paying Luka, I think this whole draft was pretty rigged, maybe one last time or they take a break from it for a decade, but it sure seems like not only did Dallas get Coop, but all the teams that tanked moved down, the teams that tried to win moved up, and the league will be even more competitive, and churn out even better basketball than ever. Teams will not tank anymore, they will try to compete in some way, the NBA should continue to improve. I don’t care that it was rigged . I felt like this was going to happen with the low ratings, and the Luka trade, since it happened. This is what I would do if I had the power to do so.

I am starting to think there is a conspiracy, but not as big as what it seems. I don't think Dallas had a handshake deal with the NBA or any knowledge of it.

I think Silver saw how angry the Dallas fans were and how many of them were switching off from Dallas Basketball (I saw something the other day stating 93% of Mavs fans said they watched significantly less basketball after the Luka trade). I think he organised for the rigging of the balls making some heavier/lighter. It wouldn't guarantee anything, but make it would make it more probable. For this to happen I think only a small handful of people would need to know and it would therefore be more likely - Adam Silver, the person handling the balls, executive from the lottery company.

If you think it's rigged, you must know that Detroit will never win the championship again. Which begs the question, why even waste time on a losing proposition?

They have a history of championships and underdogs, they will, the beauty is people think they won’t. I can’t tell you how or when, but they will.

If we were still in this draft we would probably be looking at Rasheer Fleming

Athletic 6’9 (230lbs) forward with a 7’5 wingspan shooting 39%from deep.

Small markets just have to accept building a team around picks 4-10 that they can get while watching the NBA prized market teams jump ahead of them.

I think we're in good shape. Teams are getting punished again and again for punting on the season and intentionally tanking. I think that's good for basketball in the longterm.

You're not wrong about SA (#31). But Dallas is the #5 market.

All this fixed lottery shenanigans is just tin-foil hat stuff though.

Neoklis Avdalas is a nice talent.not only cause He is greek
Had nice Performance at the combine
13-9 and 5 ass

6-8 tonto 6-9 guard forward

A Lot like egor demin , better shooter , less athletic but he plays professionell since 2 seasons

Perhaps for the 37 or trade one of our future second rounders for another Pick this season

(Apologies if I'm confusing you with another poster) - English is your second language, right? Just as a friendly tip, probably want to use another abbreviation for "assist" since the one you chose has a specific meaning in English. :-P We usually go with "ast"

Dylan Harper reminds me of Cade. Don’t know if he’ll be the playmaker Cade is though.

Rigging the NBA draft lottery would require the unquestioning collusion of dozens of team executives, team owners, and NBA executives, plus at least one partner at Ernst and Young, all of whom would be committing to keep a spectacularly incendiary case of outright fraud -- a federal crime -- secret forever, knowing that for even one of those to waver would mean harsh legal punishments for all. Every executive involved would lose their job, some of the ringleaders would undoubtedly see jail time, and every owner involved would be forced to sell. Never mind that many of those team owners and executives from teams which fell in the lottery would have signed on to get themselves screwed for no gain.

Yes, the odds against what has transpired since lottery reform are long... but nowhere near as long as the odds against such a conspiracy existing.

I wouldn’t think rigging the draft lottery as a punishable crime, franchisees have to stick together, I don’t think it ruins the NBA at all, it makes it better, I definitely think this Detroit Pistons core will come together for a championship in the next 4 years, even if coop ended up with Wemby. It’s not the end of the world, he’s forcing the owners hand to spend more and put together better rosters, that’s a win for all true basketball fans, and only a loss to the casual ones. We waited our time these teams need to as well.

I will remind folks once again that New York and Chicago were in this lottery.

Lebron, Zion, AD, Wemby. All went to below average media markets. Those are the four biggest prospects of the last 25 years.

And whatever narrative value you think there was to Wemby being in San Antonio or Lebron being home, they are dwarfed by the benefit of having them start out in those markets. And Lebron easily could have gone to New York, Chicago, or Miami right off the bat- all of them were in the lottery that year.
