It's not so much Franz as it is the sell off of any future assets. Assets which now, like it or not, are more valuable by the current CBA standards. Not less.

Filling out a roster with BPA picks and or trading up and down to nab the best player at a position of need might be the new masterclass.

The sad part is, lopsided trades will happen, but you know what helps a player go to a lopsided trade destination? LA / Miami / NY. I do not see anyone clamoring in the draft or in the NBA to "please please be sent" to OKC.

I wouldn't on age alone. I just want some shooting and a PG. Very satisfied with our core.

No.

And if you voted "Yes", then you don't understand the current roster situation.

If Dallas offered Flagg, Bucks would take him over Franz most likely. Imagine AD/Giannis/Kyrie core.

Kyrie should be back sometime next season. He might lose a step.

It is Giannis who is going to decide where he is gonna go.

Then, Magic have zero shot at Giannis and should move on from this pipe dream. Every board on RealGM give the exact same reasoning Magic fans have written here why their team has a great shot at Giannis. If I was a betting man, I would bet on LA or New York.

Magic dont win a championship with Giannis instead of Paolo.
Magic dont win a championship with Giannis instead of Franz.
Magic dont win a championship with Giannis instead of Suggs.
And it wouldnt JUST be one of them in all likelihood.

The supporting cast is the problem.

We just watched a playoff situation, with Paolo having sky high usage, get eliminated pretty easily. They have a similar play style.

This would be a short term move for a POSSIBLE shot at a championship that would likely NOT materialize.
At the expense of being very good for a longer period of time with a shot at contention when players are in their prime.

No. I’m building a roster around our young core and riding into the future.

Franz shot 18% from three in the playoffs and Paolo is still very inefficient compared to other stars. They are equally the problem in terms of how our CEILING will be in the near future - which I am not concerned about because they are still babies in the NBA compared to 25-35 year olds. That being said, the way teams function in the NBA right now, you have to have solid depth in case of injuries but also not drop off too much and have too many weak links that will get targeted/can't play on the court. They also will have to diversify their games a little bit, you can't have neither being good three point shooters.

Otherwise, I agree, someone like Giannis wouldn't fit here currently unless you were sure he was what brings you over the top without taking all of your depth to compete.

This would be my thinking. If there’s scope to form a super big 3 of Giannis/Paolo/Franz I think you try it.

I know, terrible spacing, clogged paint, etc. but I still think some dark arts could be done with those guys.

Still expecting to see him next to Wemby next season. Twin Towers 2.0.

What happened to “positionless basketball”? GA basically plays center for the Bucks with Lopez out on the perimeter. I might do it..

Maybe what Giannis was saying when he was talking about his future is not being forced to play center. I seriously doubt he wants to go anywhere he would be put into the Center position. He only does now because they had no other options.

It's tempting, but I think you'd have to put him at Center next to Paolo, because we need more shooting on the wings, not less. I think talent wise if we're talking a relatively affordable deal it makes sense on paper and you do the deal. But on the court, with him paired next to Paolo I don't think it makes sense.

I vote no. Ride or die with Franz & Paolo.

Seems like a bad pairing with Paolo since you would be giving up alot of assets. We would still need guards and the best assets gone to get those.

Giannis is going to the Lakers or Spurs. Moot discussion.

He does not want to go West.

It’s an easier path to get to the Finals through the East.

What are options for him on East?

Knicks? That's probably it.

I think there are five real options in the East.

New York Knicks: Big market, assets.
Brooklyn Nets: Got them picks.
Miami Heat: Culture attracts stars.
Toronto Raptors: Solid young core.
Orlando Magic: Bright young future.

I hadn't really thought about it, but you're right...I would not rule out TOR -it's reputation as a really international city is probably overlooked by a lot of American-born players, but it's something - especially in present times. Taxes, I guess, are a problem. BRK would be a tough sell as they basically have two decent players - and both might be a bit overrated and overpaid as they are, basically, elite role players. But Giannis is a prideful, intense guy who might just go forward with the idea that he will take over and others will jump onboard...not sure how much BRK has to spend, but if they have to give up either of their decent players, it'll be tough to consider them a contender anytime soon. I'm not crazy about NYK assets - they're not young and MIL isn't going anywhere soon. I hate the fit in ORL and wouldn't want to give up Paolo or Franz...they're just too good and too young to sell out for a "maybe" run without decent guard play in place...would have to be an all-time great summer to build the supporting cast...fun to try (on here) I guess.
