The true MVP. Damn shame he's going to be robbed of that award for the 2nd time in 3 years when it's so blatantly obvious that he is not only the best player in the world, but the most valuable player to his team as well. And with one of the worst whistles of any NBA Superstar ever. Wild.

So they have 3 top 17 players then? The complaints about supporting cast should stop, right? Is Brunson doing more with less if we go by these ratings? Is SGA?

Amazing series so far, I assumed that it would go to 7 games. OKC are still favorites, but you can't count out a more experienced team with the best player in the world.
If Gordon's injured, I don't think Denver stands a chance, but otherwise we're in for a treat on Sunday.

And thank God they gave them a couple of days of rest, could do wonders for the Nuggs.

Jokic cooked Harden. Just let it go already fam. Your obsession with Joker is too much.

How fun would it be if SGA gets the MVP on sunday and instantly gets sent to Cancun by Joker? I dont see it happen but it would be absolutely comical.

Do they announce the MVP award before this game? Taking way longer than usual. If Shai gets his MVP ceremony right before the game starts that would add some nice drama to this game.

I think the teams agreed with the nba that they don’t want the mvp to announced during the series.

I'm not surprised the teams would want the award announced after the series but I'm very surprised the NBA would agree to it. The NBA markets itself around individual players and the soap opera. This is very different than the NFL, MLB, NHL, NCAA sports which tend to focus much more on the team component in their marketing.

Announcing the MVP right before a G7 fits the NBA marketing strategy.

It's been discussed in the last game thread but most us believe that OKC brass asked the NBA not to announce it until after the series is over because they don't want to piss Joker off while they're still playing them, which is obviously hilarious. But that's literally the only explanation because the past 3 years it was announced during the first week of May. It will be almost the 3rd week of May when it is announced this year. It's been so long now that most people don't even care about it anymore. Each passing day people lose interest as the Playoffs roll on. It's such a horrible marketing strategy that there's no way the NBA would do this on their own accord, which is why I believe OKC brass likely asked them not to announce it until after the series.

I'm all ears if you have a better reasoning..? I assume you don't and you'd rather just mock instead of providing one, but I'm more than happy to entertain any theories you may have as to why they're randomly waiting 2 weeks longer this year than in past years. They'll likely announce it Monday -- as soon as the series is over -- which will be almost the 3rd week of May. It's a horrible marketing strategy for the NBA to wait this long, and the NBA is known for their marketing. So why wait this long? Genuinely curious. Do tell.

No idea but jumping to the Thunder did it is weird and has no basis in any fact. Again it’s weird to make up something to be mad at.

Exactly. You have nothing. To suggest it's just completely random and has no reasoning whatsoever is being obtuse. And who's mad? You don't have to be angry to notice this or find humor in it. It's not even a huge deal. It's just funny.

and why would the NBA gives a **** about what the Thunder organisation wants?

It's more likely the NBA was betting on OKC to advance and give Shai his award after beating Jokic but it might end up being terrible if Denver wins.

Its gonna be really tough to win in OKC with Aaron Gordon hurt.

Hamstring injuries don't just go away. Gordon will be very limited.

I don't jump to any conclusions. Has anyone even officially said "hamstring" yet? Or is it just based on where he grabbed it? In any case, he looked to be in discomfort but not in a huge deal of pain there at the end. There's just not much info. I'm holding out hope.
