Could be true. Could be a smokescreen. Could be both true and a smokescreen. If I'm the Sixers front office I'm saying the exact same thing. I still think there's a good chance they trade the pick in an effort to go all in on their championship window.

does #3 plus paul george get you giannis?

Not even close, Paul George has a bottom 3 contract and Milwaukee would still be terrible after that trade.

Bill Simmons has been floating PG + 3 to ORL for Franz. I find that more interesting.

ok, so what would it take from sixers to get giannis? they are certainly discussing this internally.

**** I hope not. Franz is a great player. I'd love to have him here.

i would say that can't without giving up one of Embiid or Maxey, so it isn't happening.

i really don't see why Orlando would do that. That would be worse than us accepting PG + 3 for Ball.

Probably PG, McCain, #3 and 1-2 more firsts.

Paul George contract is awful, Nobody is giving up positive assets for him right now.

If the Sixers keep the pick (I think they will), I trust their scouting folks to make the best decision. If that’s Bailey then we’re likely taking VJ. I do think Bailey has the biggest upside potential of any player not named Flagg or Harper.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I think Ace makes a lot of sense for them
1. He can start next to Maxey, McCain, PG and Embiid if fully healthy.
2. PG is a great mentor for him
3. He helps further setup the future timeline with Maxey and McCain, if Philly does decide to move on from Embiid/PG in the next year.

So I like him a lot as a prospect and would be thrilled to take him, but I feel like a situation like Philly would greatly increase his bust potential.

If they are sticking with Embiid, then Philly is in a must win situation + Philly already has like 3 or 4 established scorers so the ball won't be in Ace's hands much which he kinda needs for his game to stand out. And he is gonna need a lot of room to make mistakes while his game adjust to the NBA.

Speaking of, is anyone else surprised we aren't hearing a load of stories about Philly looking to move on from Embiid this offseason? They are in the perfect to do a soft reset, and Embiid at this point in his career won't bring them anywhere outside of the second round.

The meltdown from the fanbase if they pick Nips over Ace. Would make sense for Philly tho.

Philly isn't going to pick Kon at #3. Vecenie has lost his mind when it comes to Kon and what he was saying was speculation based on what he thinks they should do.

edit: I get the feeling that irrational exuberance from people like Venecie is what is fueling the narrative that Kon is a top 5 pick.

The Kon stuff is probably a byproduct of Reed being taken so high.

The difference is Reed is a PG and a lot more athletic, and was in a weak draft.

I'm not sure what Kon's role is besides 3pt shooting. More like Kennard than Klay.

As of right now, with little to go on other than the stuff we’re all reading/watching, I’m really good with Ace if he’s there at 4. LOVE his upside potential. Philly will relish their role as the DIRECTOR of the draft. First two slots guaranteed. It’s already drama queen central given the draft chatter in the city…people taking sides on which player to pick.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

He reminds me a bit of Bojan Bogdanovic (UTA/BKN). Similar body type and super slow. Super high accuracy shooter. He played more SF and even PF later in his career despite being the size of a SG due his strong/stocky build. Kon might have more passing juice.
