He's not filler here. Nor any any of the 3 deals I included him in today. So that's an odd point.

I include him because he has value to other teams and for the financial benefits to Boston which are absolutely getting ignored when suggesting Hauser and 28 are way too much value. Calculate how much real money Boston is saving here. It's a really really big number.

Now I get some fans don't care about this and its totally cool if you would prefer the team to keep spending in a year they aren't a contender with the Tatum injury. But I think(as do several Celtics fans here btw) that using this year to reset some finances would be the smartest option.

But he's not a throw-in. At all. Which I made clear in every deal but talking about his value to the team he lands on. :D

I think your trades are fair attempts overall. This particular one cost a little too much for the value, imo. It's basically paying #28 to save $12M from KP to Rui. Hauser you can unload to a TPE and get a 2nd back, so you can't factor his savings in.

Now, if BOS wanted Rui and valued him, that would be one thing. But he's really just extra salary they would have to clear when other deals do that on their own with the same outgoing assets. Unless you think BOS wouldn't have to pay to dump Rui somewhere.

yeah if Rui isn't valued, this isn't good enough. I was trying to keep Boston more competitive, but I agree if he's not wanted this one is a miss.
