LaRavia, Lyles, Nance, Yabusele, and Boucher are all FAs. Wonder if any of them will be available for the TMLE. Or do you just try ro find a wing instead.ProcessDoctor wrote:SixersFan21 wrote:ProcessDoctor wrote:1. Draft Ace Bailey at #3 and Yaxel at #35 (or trade up if available)

Lot of crazy trades proposed but you and me think alike. Don't know enough about LaRavia but sure and could see Mccain start vs grimes but either way those 3 will take 95% of guard minutes. Regardless overall strategy makes sense
Morey has repeatedly mentioned 9 guys/slots only when talking about next year Maxey/Embiid/PG/Mccain/Bona/Edwards/ Grimes / #3 pick # 35 pick. Yea I think the lack of a PF is the elephant in the room that no one seems to notice because we're busy debating Ace Bailey vs. VJ Edgecombe vs. Tre Johnson.

If it's just Maxey + #3 for Giannis, then I'd have to pull the trigger. I expect it will cost much more than that.

Some combination of picks or pick swaps from 2026 to 2028.

It really is and its weird because last year thats all a lot of people talked about because the need is real - PG is not a 4 and ACE is not a 4 at least not now and neither is VJ or Tre.
What we need is someone who can rebound, defend well enough in team concepts, shoot the corner 3 well and not need the have the ball in his hand on offense all the time more of a catch and shoot guy. Thats what screams Jabari Smith to me - hes not great but he young has room to grow and does everything we need. FA 4s are very weak - In theory Yabu could be that guy, but all Morey talks about it youth and I rarely hear him talk about Yabu when he talks about core pieces next year unless hes heavily prompted. I think there is a decent chance he is gone and Morey might use a portion of tpmle to sign edwards to longer-term min if possible

That's an interesting package.
Utah probably says yes - they get high upside player in 3 and are going to tank anyway next year regardless so Dame being out is not the end and the following year he's expiring (would lose pick if not top 8 but lose nothing if it is) and they have 3 and 5 and whoever they get next year to move forward with and tons of cap space when Dame drops or if comes back in 26 maybe you can flip him as expiring.
Sixers - if its maxey and 3 for giannis you have to think its a yes.
Bucks - they get 2 young all-star level players that are both locked in for 4 more years which, get off the bad money in Dame, and reduce payroll stay under tax. You would think they would want some draft comp too (probably would insist on 28 LAC) but not a bad trade because no way . Lauri overlaps with Portis and Kuzma so they'd probably want to have a trade lined up for Kuz if they got lauri, but if we put maxey on the table I don't know who else has a matching piece as good

Yes, because Brown is a winning player. But what do Celts want. That is the question. There’s an argument that Brown’s value to the Celts would increase because they would need Brown to take that Tatum role next season.

Re: 2025 Fantasy Trade Thread
One name that hasn’t been mentioned much is Porzingis. He’s someone teams might quietly target. Given his underwhelming playoff showing and the Celtics’ depth, he’s somewhat expendable. Yet there’s real value in a big like him, someone who lets you play two big lineups, spaces the floor, protects the rim, and can step out defensively.

If I'm the Celtics, I'm blowing it up this offseason and tanking next year if I'm able to swing it. Six months from now is Nov, so technically Tatum can be back by then, but would probably play it safe and hold him out till after Christmas.
With us involved, it's pretty difficult to just give them our 3rd pick. Here's a scenario that just worked:
Sixers get:
Jaylen Brown
Jeremy Sochan
Celtics get:
#3 pick
Keldon Johnson
Harrison Barnes
Spurs get:
PG
That gives the Celtics an Ace Bailey who will have a year to get comfortable in the NBA. Ideally they can get another top 5 pick in 2026 (a much better draft). If PG is back to even Clippers form, then that team has a very complete lineup with Wemby, Harper, Fox, Castle.
As far as us, I'm not really a "trade the pick for a vet" guy, but just interested in seeing what everyone else thinks.

Not interested in Jaylen Brown. He’s not a difference maker to be getting paid that much.

I don't want to get rid of Maxey and I want to be young but if its just maxey and #3 for a mvp level player still in prime - witch hunts should be reserved for someone giving up maxey and 3 for # 2 to get harper. or maxey for KD or Lauri straight up. A guy like Maxey, a young all star caliber guard on only a 25% max contract I'm not trading him in 99.9% of cases and definetly not to make room for Mccain and Grimes (I keep all 3) but for a MVP level in his prime I'd do it. There are only a handful of people I would trade maxey for - Giannis you have to consider, another one I'd do is ant edwards all day that guy is a killer, You'd be stupid not to consider that if proposed but i'm not trying to trade maxey.

But I want PG off this team about as bad as I wanted Horford gone when he was here so there's that.
