That's definitely very bad news for the Nuggets, but Denver beat OKC once this year without AG (Westbrook started). They're not going down without a fight.

It's a devastating blow on multiple fronts. AG has the ability to get the rebound and initiate the offense. That dynamic is now gone. So is his shooting, which has greatly improved.

Defensively, other than Braun, no one plays harder. That's also gone. Combine that with MPJ playing with one arm and it's basically over.

They're going to need a legendary performance from Jokic and Murray, and even that might not be enough.

I still think DEN should be favorites. They have Murray and Jokic in an elimination game

Denver is toast without Gordon but they've put up a heck of a fight.

Without Gordon the Nuggets have a 1-2% chance of winning imo. They just don’t have enough nba quality players.

I'm not surprised the teams would want the award announced after the series but I'm very surprised the NBA would agree to it. The NBA markets itself around individual players and the soap opera. This is very different than the NFL, MLB, NHL, NCAA sports which tend to focus much more on the team component in their marketing.

Announcing the MVP right before a G7 fits the NBA marketing strategy.

Pushing the envelope further, announce it at halftime of Game 7– like OKC leading by 15, and SGA having a great half and Jokic goes supernova in the 2nd half to lead the Nuggets to a comeback win.

Neither scenario is funny, if he lost does that some how diminish his regular szn MVP award... Maybe to someone ignorant I guess

Obviously I agree in general, I was just pointing out the fact that since SGA will win the MVP, not Joker, and SGA has the much better team, the inverse would not work the same way.

OKC went into this series as huge favourite and 68 wins juggernaut. Most of the board and "anyalist" predicted gentlemans sweep.
Already short Nuggets who dont shoot the ball a lot from 3, went into a series with injured MPJ who was awful apart from one game, and not only cant shot but cant rebound either.
Despite of that Nuggets battled and forced game 7 in what has been one of the most interesting series in years(nuggets were probably part of the other ones vs Clippers this year and Minny last year).
This game 7 had potential to be one of the best ever and now we get this news. I had OKC as favourite anyway for game 7, but like 60-40 favourite, now with Gordon out, or severly limited it is 80-20. Brutal for the Nuggets and huge break for OKC. Im so sick i could throw up...
I gave Nuggets 20% chance bcs you never know, someone can get hot, others get cold but even if they make it trough, what can they do against minny without Gordon (he would miss in that case at least 3 games). Schedulers are such idiots, even though ECF is set, somehow they play day after WCF, such bull, unbeliveable...
If im the Nuggets i wouldnt force the issue with AG, he cant play its clear, and if he goes in OKC is not going to show any mercy and his injury can only get worse. Try without him and hope someone else showes up even if that is not likley to happen.

Dont be an ****, your team cought huge break, no need for this bull. Harmstring is not a flu or something, and people dont fake Hammy injuries. Ask Curry, ask CP3, ask everyone.

Basketball fans were denied what could’ve been an epic Game 7 due to the unfortunate injury. :(

I still think they have a good chance without Gordon. Sometimes weird stuff happens the first game when missing a key piece. It’s harder to prep when you have been planning for the player to be there all this time and suddenly he isn’t. The Warriors effectively won the first game without Curry (I know it wasn’t a full game but it was over a half and they extended their lead) and the Celtics won the first game without Tatum.

Also experience blah blah experience. Game 7 is often a different animal, and it’s hard to say how OKC will perform in it.

Lastly, Westbrook could win it or lose it for Den. Or neither, but for obvious reasons he’s pretty important in this game.

Yeah, even before the AG announcement I thought OKC was going to win. Hope I'm wrong though and weird stuff can still happen in game 7. That's why they play and why we watch.
