Kevin Durant

But I want PG off this team about as bad as I wanted Horford gone when he was here so there's that.

Can't give you KD but the Bulls can give good fitting role players.

Vucevic (expiring and more than useful as back-up for Embiid), Williams (obviously contract isn't the greatest but it's not horrendous, I feel a young 3 and D wing could be useful for Philly) and Lonzo (another 3 and D guy with playmaking abilities and a team friendly contract).

Tweaks can obviously be made.

Unless there's a 3rd team involved, the Bulls alone cannot have both PG and the #3.

That's not an offer. Team isn't looking to use 3 to dump PG.

Yeah.

Even without the #3 in there I'm not sure Daryl does it. From a current value perspective it would be a win to get off of PG's contract, but if they genuinely want to compete next year it clearly lowers their ceiling.

There's just no world where they use the #3 to turn an overpaid, but high end starter into a few useful (and also overpaid... Just less so) role players.

Would you do that?

If I was confident in Embiid's health (and KDs...) I'd certainly be tempted. Even if I just knew I'd get 1 for sure season with the team being healthy.

But you can't keep doubling down... Right?

I think you need to come away with a high upside, cost controlled young player and let things ride with the Maxey/PG/Embiid trio.

The two timelines approach kinda feels like it could work here for the simple fact that they've shown that they can bottom out pretty hard if guys aren't healthy, so you're not stuck in no-man's-land Bulls territory.

You'd have to be a brain dead moron to trade #3 for a 37 year old. Morey is not a brain dead moron.

I could see him doing it if we were a lot closer to a title than we are.

I shouldn't have even stopped by. We aren't trading this pick.

KD hasn’t won a damn thing without Steph and every locker room he’s been in since OKC has been a disaster. Absolutely no interest in him.

The most likely trade is probably back to the Utah Jazz at 5. If Daryl thinks they can get there guy a little later, why recoup some additional draft capital

I like it, and then find a way to move George.

The only way I would want Durant was if the Suns were crazy enough to trade him essentially straight up for George. I want neither one, but Durant gives you more upside, and most importantly has less time on his deal.

What about Booker?

Gets wonky with their salary situation/trade matching rules... But would you do PG/McCain/#3 for Devin Booker?

Top-20 player still in his prime. Good fit with Maxey in the backcourt. Playoff performer.

Hate moving McCain... But if a deal doesn't hurt, it's probably not realistic.

You can't be serious. Some really turrible trades in the last couple pages.

It would be swell if we could go 1 off season without talking about getting any/every big name player that could be available.

Maybe, perhaps, try to build an actual team of players that fit well together and can sustain an extended period of success? Not just a team of mercenaries that never actually win anything and leave the team in shambles behind them.

Just a crazy thought…

Generally agree, but by that logic we should just lock this thread...

Hate to say it, but I might think about doing that. Kills two birds with one stone - brings in a proven performer and all-star, and as you said a good fit with Maxey, and moves the dead weight of George out of here.

The question is whether we could get a better player with #3 than Booker?

If we’re after Devin Booker type, I would just save our core and assets and draft Tre.

There’s a gigantic reasonable middle ground between trading for a star and shutting down this thread
