As level headed as Brown seems...He made a mistake there. That told me that they wanted that win badly AND that they believed they could beat us. You remember when he said we would have to get 4 after they lost the first two?

Our Knicks proved to be the better team when it was time to battle when everything was on the table- thats with Tatum and without Tatum; which as we heard from everyone that the Celtic were 8-2 without him.

The only Celtic fan that I can respect is one that acknowledges that we earned every bit of that series win.

Playoff basketball is a series of adjusments on top of adjustments that teams don't have a chance to do in regular season match ups. You may have a tentative game plan on how to match up with a team but the scheduling doesn't allow for much practicing of that game plan.

In the playoffs the intimacy teams get with each other knowing exactly what each other run and so much floor time to attack and probe different ways to beat them it's a completely different animal. As an example game 5 the Celtic came out with a scheme that the Knicks had no chance to see or prepare for because of the injury but by the second crack at it had it figured out.

If there was another game maybe the Celtics would have a counter to what the Knicks did but the series can only last so long and the Knicks did what they needed to do to get to 4 wins before Boston did. Not only game plans or adjustments the Knicks just executed better more often.

Obviously, what goes without saying is the grit and determination the Knicks have to keep fighting through whatever adversity there was. If they lose one of those first two games or both this series goes a different way but that's why they play the actual games, this isn't an on paper game.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Agreed... it's like the light switch came on. He knows where his sweet spots are. Him and OG have been as good defensively as advertised

This team HAS THE PIECES. It can win it all if they play together and unified under Thibs.

Mitch and Bridges are huge defensive multipliers when locked in

yesterday was thibslamic in every way.

it can be done.

When the shoe's on the other foot, it's easy to see it's copium. Mazzulla has been the league's coaching darling and he has a chip. There's no way they move on IMO, especially with all the injuries and the fact that the Cs are going to retool now. I have a hard time evaluating because I'm mostly frothing at the mouth when the Knicks are playing but he didn't do anything egregious this series that I saw and wasn't playing with the full deck.

Daignault's one I have to take a huge L on thus far. He's been a complete dud this postseason and his actions/lack thereof have directly led to losses. He's been brutal in tight situations. Whatever brilliance he brings to his regular season approach... he ain't got it in the playoffs.

i respect daignault's approach to the regular season. i respected kenny's. it's just... you also have to be ready for playoff trench warfare. they are different things.

should be a good game 7. like how denver has stood tall in this one.

Exactly and I said before G5 that the Cs would have a 5 out blitz approach that we wouldn't be prepared for. G6 they couldn't pull the same gimmicks. We shut down White and neutralized Kornet and that was that.

Exactly. We blanketed them on defense with smart switching and actually dedicating a guy to shadow White.

These coaches are all brilliant geniuses everybody glazes when they got a deep roster full of 2 way talent coasting on easy mode. In the playoffs when some of their players are not 100% and they have to really coach is when you see their flaws.

The Celtics drubbed us opening night and in the second and third regular season meetings. They still beat us in the last meeting too.
This feels so damn good. We beat them four times when it mattered. Total wins? 5 them, 4 us. But we won em when it mattered most.

Off topic but if you wanna watch some more NY hoops this afternoon, the defending champion NY Liberty season tips off against the Las Vegas Aces in about an hour.

Great time for basketball in NY :)
