Ayo Dosunmu to NYK

Post#1 » by NYG » Sat May 17, 2025 2:21 pm

Ayo Dosunmu for Pacome Dadiet, P.J. Tucker, Ariel Hukporti and '26 Conditional Wizards 1st

Knicks add more depth to their bench without breaking up any key pieces

Bulls continue to rebuild and acquire assets for Dosunmu who is set to get paid

Dont think knicks can pull this off. they will be at 199M with 5 roster spots left to fill and only ~7 mil from 2nd apron

This only would make sense if there is another salary cutting move with one of the other wings. Which will be hard to sell to the fan base after the Boston series win.

Good for the Bulls to get a pick for Dosunmu, great that it's a 2026 pick depending on those conditions when they have plenty of expiring contracts to create space for 2 picks

Bad #1 is they get three players for 1 which means they have to buy out at least 2 players, maybe all three that they just got
#2 who are those 2 other guys?
#3 PJ Tucker isn't good for a team trying to get past the play in he's going to want to be o a contender
#4 PJ the PF at best would be playing behind Buzelis and not playing much

Dosunmu seems like a Thibs type defender, how much he plays himself into the rotation is a guess

The Bulls don't have 2 spare roster spots, can they dump any of these guys on a 3rd team for a top half protected 2nd rounder or something?

It's Ayo for Dadiet and WAS top 10 2026 1st. CHI should probably be all over this. What are the conditions on that WAS pick?

Roster spots is such a strange thing to be held up on, especially when it's guys who can easily be bought out.

Revisiting this as a depth move?

You get 20 in the off-season. And between the current guys under contract and the guys coming in this deal, I feel confident there are two they could waive and never ever miss.

I don’t think the FO would be remotely interested in something like this. Factoring in the salary plus giving up a pick and two solid prospects is too much. Add in PJ and it’s a bridge too far… he’s had a good impact on the locker room. I like Ayo, but he doesn’t move the needle enough to justify this.
