The interviews I hate too. The players are always in a bad position.

The fashion stuff has been a thing for awhile now and it's probably gonna be a main staple of the league as fashion design and make up brands partner with the league and players. Unrivaled had a huge partnership with Sephora and Coach has Paige and some of the other rookies as brand ambassadors.
So in other words they are still trying to grow the brand of the WNBA and this stuff is necessary?

I watched this game is most of the conversation has been about Clark. You're not growing the brand when you only talk about 1 player. So the extra stuff is kind of unnecessary imo.

Nobody knows anyone outside of basketball other than Clark and maybe Aja Wilson and even that's a stretch.

Finally bringing her in. Wouldn't have mattered, but they needed to do something.

Chicago is still going to be pretty good, but Indy is going to be insane.

The brand is always growing, yes, so I think this is a good thing.

CC is the premier draw of the league so the conversation is always gonna focus around her during these games. I understand your frustration though because there are other players who deserve recognition on both teams.

Yeah it's just game 1, they have a lot to work on but they should be better than this.

CC with the triple double. DB becoming 3rd all time scoring. Incredible day for the Fever.

Alot more talent on the court; seems like a fun bunch. i might be speaking out of turn, but i feel like the WNBA has a ton of story lines this season. its going to be a big year.

Jokic is the best player in the world..They don't make the entire game about Jokic. That's my point.

The NBA is already international they don't focus on just 1 player. Everyone has their own brand and the love is spread around equally if you are deserving of praise.

I find it hard to believe the WNBA is going to really grow if everything is literally about Clark. I bet they mentioned Clark name over 100 times in this game alone. Seems like they banking all their growth into 1 single player and that's a dangerous game.

God forbid she has a season ending injury then what? Who are you marketing for your brand now?

It's just frustrating to watch at times.

They did the same stuff last season. Fashion and sports go hand in hand now and they can get a bigger reach into the fashion world. I like what they're doing.

Fashion thing works better with women. I hope the players get free clothes from designers; that can get expensive if you’re not a big star

They were all strips down low as the offensive player was bringing the ball up to shoot. Could have easily been called steals instead of blocks, but I don't think the number is inaccurate.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.

Averaged 1.3 steals last year. She's stronger and quicker now.

For me, Clark had 4 steals and 1 block, rather than 4 blocks and 1 steal. But whatever, they were 5 change-of-possession plays regardless. The Fever overall were very disruptive & handsy. I thought they got away with a few fouls, but if so that just meant they should have won by 29 rather than 35.

Fashion is universal but you're right, it appeals to women a lot so it's a no brainer move for the league to partner with brands.

I'm pretty sure the players are being styled by designers. They're not buying these outfits.

I think it's great. It's something new and different

So Indiana might want to get another score keeper. A strip is fairly discernible from a block

sikma42 wrote:Keep trying to root for CC but just don’t like her demeanor as a player. She’ll do extremely well bc she is a great talent on a very talented team…but she just has a demeanor that’s hard to root for.

Also the Chicago Skye are horrible

I was bummed to see the headline of the game, and just below the espn fold was the Clark foul. Just sets off the racists ****s all over again.

I know CC and Angel have an actual basketball rivalry, but, idk…something feels a little unnerving about that play. Clark is really smart. I’m quite sure she’s aware of the narratives and the optics and the “conversations” going on (despite some wanting to believe she and all those close to her must live under a rock).

Maybe she just missed the ball on the swipe? Ok, giving the benefit of the doubt there, but she just had to add a little shove and a little stare too? Just, why get into it with Reese specifically given all the known drama and sickening hatred being spewed in CC’s “defense.” I also didn’t like how she walked far away from the incident like she was some goodie two shoes. Maybe Angel did something earlier, idk. In that case it’s more understandable.

I’m sure your post wasn’t just about the one incident, but I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. CC definitely has a very whiny and entitled way about her with the refs that I don’t like. But I also don’t think she should be crushed for that given we see it all the time with the Lukas and the Lebrons and plenty of other nba stars.
