Always was behind this crew even when harboring doubts about Thibs.

This has always been the most talented starting 5 in the NBA even when they baffled us with their play.

While some already wanted to break up this team mid-season, the rest of us said give it time or change the coach maybe, but the talent was always there.

I still remember the night we traded for him. I was told a 1000x BKN would never trade him to us. Rose said fuq off dweebs were going to right the wrong from the 2018 draft night

Mikal is the heart of this team. When he’s engaged and in it from the jump, we’re undefeated this playoffs.

All the hate he got even this series and he shoved it back down the throats of nonbelievers. Embarrassing for the haters everywhere. Glorious for us who loved it from day one and never turned.

Mikal was the Knick I've defended more than any other, in part because of the irrational 5 picks hatred thrust upon him, but also because he was already the most clutch Knick after Brunson. That man won us games in the regular season and he was maybe our most important player this series too. I saw him rise up on occasions where I knew he could be big for us in the playoffs. MFers misjudged him.

kp has 2 years left at 30 a year but he's injured a lot and now has this mystery illness. not sure there will be a good market for him. with the cap situation the way it is, who has an extra 30 mill to use on a player that may not play/be effective ?

and jrue has 3 more years at 35 a year and will be 35 in june. will they have to attach an asset to dump him ? could be.

they might have to dump someone like white to reduce salaries which they pretty much have to. the repeater tax will have them spending like half a bill in salaries i thought i heard if they don't.

I think some team may still be interested in Jrue if they feel they're close to contention or need to establish a culture. Maybe every FO has caught on that he's washed but I think there's always a team that's willing to bank on pedigree. Perhaps Jrue for Fox, or Jrue for Tobias?

KP is an all-around mystery you're right.

I wonder if they shouldn't look to keep White - I think he's arguably their second-best player, and his game should age fairly well. But perhaps you're right and now is the time to dump his contract.

Either way F the Celtics I hope that Tatum comes back healthy but that otherwise they make all the wrong decisions.

fox wants the max so the celtics would have to let him walk. i never really cared for the fox trade for the spurs so i could sort of see it but at least he's somewhat close to wemby's age. jrue is too old to grow with. it would have to be a team close to contention as you say. maybe one that strikes out on the big names. still, that 3rd year is a killer. the lakers ? makes some sense but they need a big man a lot more.

i agree that white is a good piece but he might have to go just to reduce costs

Ah yes right I forgot the Fox extension. Perhaps they can re-route him to some directionless team for cap relief and some asset.

In any case, I think they need a firesale.

If they have to trade White, they could get some solid assets for him. He'll be 31 this summer so I can see the case for it. Perhaps they could trade him into Detroit's capspace for a pick or a prospect, for example.
