Actually, I was referring to the part of the sign and trade restriction where we can only take back half the salary we send out.

So not only would the Warriors have to duck the hard cap (which requires them to let Kuminga, GPII, and Looney walk) but they would have to then pay Brook $23M.

Been wrong a lot lately but I don't think the "BYC" stuff applies to players where their new contract reduces their salary.

God I hope we don't trade for Kuminga.

All the Jrue stuff but what if we went after White, what does that look like? Boston is gonna do something major this off season and I’d imagine attaching assets to unload Holiday makes less sense than recouping assets to trade White.. can we take advantage of that? A 2 man game Giannis and White could be really good.

Agree, but wouldn't every team want White? How do we end up the highest bidder?

Made the mistake of listening to the Howard Beck, Sam Amick pod on Giannis. One of them thought the Knicks sending us OG and Bridges could be good, but they’d have to find maybe a first rounder to send also.

I'm seeing a lot of pundits act liking Jrue has positive value. They're paying him like a 2nd-3rd option, who never was one in the playoffs for the Bucks & beyond, he's already declining, + they have to pay him for 3 more seasons. He's a straight up bad contract.

He's not what we need. Don't want to take on more years, rather less, to get into FA earlier. And we require a guy who we can convince ourselves is a 2nd option, on too much $. Maybe another guy w/ a criminal record. Jrue's squeaky clean, just not that good.

I think he’s the one guy that’s probably off the table unless they get blown away. He’s on a really good deal

Idk honestly. Maybe that’s how you sneak in a bad team and have them do your bidding?

I'd take Moody and hope he could the next Nesmith.

No interest in Kuminga, even with his last couple of games in that playoff series when they were looking for anything. That recent article that just came out about how Kerr and Steph were just over his selfishness was concerning.

Brook will be in high demand. It's not just the Warriors and Lakers who will be after him. He shot 51% and 37% on threes and still protects the rim.

He obviously has big defensive liabilities, but he could last several more years, since he never relied on athleticism. I don't now what's doable if there's a bidding war for him, so I'll rely on you geeks to figure it out.

With Luka, the Lakers want a rim runner. Brook can't run. He's the last center they'd want.

The Lakers are a team that might try to steal Sims.

There are lots of articles about Lakers and Lopez. I could link them all for you, but apparently you know what they really want.

" it's been reported that the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in acquiring center Brook Lopez. While he was previously traded to the Lakers in 2017, recent reports suggest the Lakers are again looking at him as a potential addition, potentially in free agency. Brook Lopez is the betting favorite to be the Lakers starting center on opening day next season. He is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

They expect us to thank NY for taking Giannis off our hands after as well?

Come on man. Show one reputable reporter on this. Speculation from hacks is just for clicks. It was reported widely what type of center they wanted after they acquired Luka. They even consulted Luka. It's not Brook Lopez.

So the multiple sites sites that talk about Brook Lopez and the Lakers are not reputable, but the "widely reported" information you have is. Got it.

Lopez will be in demand and the Lakers will be one of them. Not really controversial.

Yes, reports by actual members of the media are more reputable.

They kind of tipped their hand as to what archetype big man they want by, ya know, trading for one after acquiring Luka. Just didn't pass the physical.

Doesn't mean they wouldn't be open to Lopez in a vacuum as a bench big or something. But Luka operates best with a lob threat.

Why are we talking about Lopez anyway. He's a free agent. Unless the hope is someone over the cap wants to do a S&T?
