He's going to have a breakout season.

I thought he'd be an all-star caliber guard, I honestly never thought he'd be a top 5 player and flat out superstar, because that's exactly what he is.

Look at mine  I was expecting a solid PG and instead we got a superstar.

since we didn't get donovan mitchell, it looks like this is going to be brunson's team to run. whats your expectations on him? predictions? just trying to change the conversation on this board since we've been debating about the same things every day

i'll start my predictions

17.5 ppg 6.7 apg on 46/38/82 splits

I think almost everyone thought that we'd have to trade for the 1A player, or draft them, instead....we just signed him. He was born to save us.

I'm still recovering from Donovan Mitchell but I'm so glad I was completely wrong about Jalen Brunson. I thought he might make an All Star team once in his career, no way did I see this second round pick turn into a legitimate Superstar in the league.

Easily exceeded my expectations. Not going to lie I thought Brunson was gonna be a 18-20 ppg/6-8 apg guy. Good enough to maybe be a 2nd option on a contender not a 1st option.

Now we see that he is a 1st option on a contender.

There's at least four benefits here. 1 He's a massive upgrade at a position of dire need. 2 As a player he's on the upswing. 3 His presence could or should go a long way in developing a bunch of young players on the roster and 4 Leaving the Mavericks as their second best player can only help improve that draft pick, the rights of which the Knicks own. Maybe I'm being a homer but it all feels legit

This is almost right for 100% except those Mavs decided to tank and ditch us that pick. :banghead:

Has it ever even happened before in the league that a team acquired a smaller player (say 6'3" or under) who wasn't a superstar who became one with his new team? Can't even recall it happening with a big. This was the Knicks' moonshot.

Chauncey Billups wasn't quite a superstar but he became a star late in his career.
