I guess maybe don't fire your coach and GM at the same time right before the playoffs.

What difference would it have made?

Nah, Denver's problem is they aren't a good team. Management was blessed with an ATG and made one shrewd move to build around him (Gordon).

Other than that the talent on this roster isn't close to a good team.

I just dont agree with this at all. Aaron Gordon was incredible all series until the injury. Jamal Murray runs hot and cold but had brilliant moments against a team with 4 different all-defense level guards. MPJ was injured. Christian Braun is legit.

This team doesn't have depth. They only have 6-7 rotation level players. They took a 68-win(!) team with arguably the best defense ever(!) to 7 games before running out of gas.

People have been whining all playoffs long, but this was a really good series with some incredible performances. Denver is really good.

I defended Gordon so we agree there but:
A. As you said above the team lacks depth, that's a clear management failure.
B. Murray's BPM by game this post-season:

Code: Select all

Rk   BPM
1    0.5
2    4.8
3    3.6
4   (5.7)
5    21.2
6    2.3
7   (8.5)
8    0.6
9   (0.1)
10   10.1
11    1.9
12  (1.9)
13    0.1

He isn't hot/cold. He his game pattern is bad, bad, HOFer, bad, average. That isn't good enough for a real # 2.

C. MPJ is a terrible contract that has negative value around the league.

If you're right that Denver which only won 50 games this year has a good supporting cast, the Jokic skeptics are right he is overrated.

Props for OKC fans for not leaving early. Could have very easily left an hour ago to beat traffic.

Dead serious

Brunson historically cooks Caruso. At least he did when he was in Chicago.

If that's the case, OKC isn't winning. Knicks are not the Nuggets.

The Knicks don’t have a Jokic though. Brunson is a nice star but not elite yet like the Serbian.

Nope not even close because Jokic is content letting the front office do their thing and won’t say a word. Make no mistake he wants to win but there’s no burning desire to catch the other greats in rings at all costs. The reason there’s always been that talk with Giannis is because he’s on record saying he considers one ring not enough and will be disappointed if he only ends his career with one. I don’t think Jokic will ever say that or things like he wants to catch Kobe, LeBron, Jordan, Steph or Duncan

I have no idea I'm just speculating. If he was American it wouldn't be a question. But the situation is starting to look a lot like Milwaukee's this year where they are just stuck. He could equally be fine with a Reggie Miller (with a title) career for all I know.

At least he’s not contemplating his future like Rui or Reaves, if at all they are going to be back in title contention ever. (Or packaged in a trade)

GG OKC, good luck. I'm proud of the core of the Nuggets - Jokic (who didnt run out like a pouting kid but shook hands and exchanged words like a good sport), Gordon, Braun.
