You guys are upset that they apparently made some sort of protest by walking off before the anthem, and yet I see exactly why they did it. Because of nasty people like those fans in Indiana who don't know how to act like civilized adults.

First off, if there is clear video of Indiana fans calling Angel and the Sky racial slurs, I will believe it. If not, I will doubt it, because I've heard a lot of accusations level at Caitlin Clark fans since she entered the league, and they haven't all been legitimate. I live in Indiana, and don't take lightly to my fellow Hoosiers being called racists.

Secondly, did these slurs supposedly occur before the anthem, and was that why they walked off the floor for it? There's a long history in the WNBA of teams walking off for the anthem, so I'm skeptical of that too.

I heard a similar story, with a slight twist. It supposedly comes from Clark's post game press conference, but I didn't see it so I can't say for sure.
Anyway, supposedly another player had been fouled hard on a previous play, as you said. But it wasn't called. So when Reese had an easy layup, Clark wanted to foul her to prevent it, but wanted to make it a hard foul to be sure it was called, since the previous one wasn't.

the hate that angel reese gets is not okay. yes, clark is better. yes, clark is a bigger draw. It doesnt matter.

let the girl compete and let her grow. like what is this double standard, that we dont believe the fans are nasty unless there is video proof? we all know what fans are saying in those arenas. happens all the time. and i definitley see what the fever/clark supporters say on social media. i dont know of any male athlete, that gets this kind of treatment especially in a rookie/sophmore year.

draymond literally kicks people in the nuts, knocking out his own teammate and what not. and yet there is still people defending his behaviour.

im not neccessarily an Angel Reese fan, but i feel sorry for the girl. Let them have their rivalry.
im bout dat action boss

It was a great first half, but the Lynx defense and depth was just too much in the 2nd.

So good to see Alanna back. She appears to be on a minutes restriction, but she was awesome when she was in.
Yeah, the Lynx bringing Shepard back just seems unfair.

With the big wins by NY and Indy over the weekend, it feels like the Lynx are somehow going to get overlooked again.
Their teamwork on both sides of the floor is just so fun to watch.

And, I agree about Sarah Ashlee Barker. She looked good.

I could see the Sparks winning a lot of games against teams not named Lynx, Liberty, or Fever (I would say Aces, but Hamby, and now Plum, don't lose to the Aces).

It doesn't matter if the slurs were said before or after the anthem. No one should be called racial slurs for any reason. This is a really bad take.

Also, I'm skeptical of your belief that there aren't racists in the Fever fanbase. Not based off of the nasty, racist vitriol we've seen over the last 12 months directed towards not only Angel Reese, but also Dijonai Carrington, and CC's own teammates Aaliyah Boston and Dewanna Bonner.

This isn't an isolated incident and both the league and Fever are investigating because this has been already happening. I'm not painting the Fever fanbase with a broad brush, because idiots always ruin things for everyone else, but unfortunately these people do exist.

Quietly, Kiki & CItron have kicked off their WNBA careers on the Mystics by outplaying almost all of the rookies from last year's more heralded class. Citron is averaging 17 ppg, Kiki is at 15/9, and both are shooting over 50% from the field. Not coincidentally, the Mystics (picked by the NYT to lose even more games than the Valkyries) are 2-0.

They look so good.

And I especially feel good for them because they got a lot of off-season disrespect. They became the poster child for "there's nobody in this draft after Paige". Teams were tripping over themselves to trade out of the first round.

4 cheap years of Citron would be great for Chicago about now.

We keep hearing how the Aces need help in the front court behind A'Ja. 4 cheap years of Kiki would have been nice (with the savings they could have kept Tip or AC too)

Mystics zigged while the rest of the league zagged. I hope they get rewarded for it.

And you're right it's great to see them 2-0 on May 18. Last year they won their first game on June 11.

These dudes are always really weird about the anthem because they love performative patriotism all while voting to plunder the country and give the proceeds to a handful of people who already have more money than they can use

It took one game for these weird culture warriors to start in again using Caitlin Clark as a prop. But this is the America we live in nowadays, and they want us to be proud of the flag.

I didn't catch the Sun game, but I'm glad to see ONO played great

We need to trade Mabrey for everyone's sake lol, we're not a good enough team to use her effectively and she's not good enough to be the leading scorer, we saw that last year with Chicago

Hopefully we get to see the rookies tomorrow, I don't know what the exact status is for them, I know Morrow is dealing with a knee injury and is listed as day-to-day, and Rivers is out due to personal reasons (no idea what), and I don't know what's going on with Lacan

But I see what they're doing, they want to remain competitive this year because they're selling the team and because they don't own their first this year (have a 1st from Phoenix and NY, at least), then probably go full rebuild next year.

I haven't had a chance to ask you, how do you feel about the news regarding Mohegan Sun selling the Sun?

The first amendment gives the Chicago Sky the right to walk off during anthem, so unless the ppl upset don't believe a team full of women are entitled to that right, this is a non issue.

I'll be honest, I'm starting to hate these Fever/Sky match ups because this BS happens every time. I feel bad for Angel Reese because she doesn't deserve the abuse and harassment. They treat her like she's some kinda monster when in reality she's just a regular kid who worked hard enough so that her mom didn't have to hold a job anymore. It's ridiculous.

still not caught up on all the off season movement. So Plum is now on the Sparks, did the aces fill her spot with someone better?
