#9 pick might not even be in the rotation

Depends on what we see from him, I guess, and what position he is. A forward? Probably not; we have a crap-load of forwards, and have invested in several of them. We also have a fair number of guards. But if we grab a center? We've got Yak and maybe Mogbo, I guess? Undersizing Scottie at the 5 at times, maybe? I dunno, but we tried Castleton and such, so maybe we can fit someone in there a little more, especially with size. Who knows?

if they show up and just start killing in practice, summer league and the preseason, maybe they'll play themselves into the rotation. Or maybe an injury will open a door.

I don't think anyone at #9 is talented enough to be just gifted a rotation spot. We have depth at every position other than a true backup C, but none of the C prospects are good enough to just slot right in automatically either, they will need to earn it.

He still has great length and size and he’s super light on his feet. He’s in the convo at 9 for sure along with fleming. They will def measure the ceilings on all 3 including bryant. Ive been reading fleming has more creation from his high school days its too bad he didnt show much of that in college.

I generally prefer a guy who has more rim protection potential than my admittedly-brief reading about Noa seems to imply, but we'll see what happens, right?

Yes, that's basically what I just said; we're in agreement on this one, for sure. That's why I was talking about them playing themselves into it or maybe taking advantage of an injury, etc.

Yeah ideally we add a vet backup C this offseason even if we draft one at 9...or 39. Injuries WILL happen and we should not put ourselves into the position of having to start a rookie C while trying to win games.

I don't know, we aren't positioned to be good enough that I'd worry about it that much at that point of the season, if Yak gets injured. It would be good experience for a rook, knowing that our best-case is probably a first round appearance getting blown out by a stronger team.

Your role player is based on your franchise player. Would our championship team better off with Maluach instead Gasol? I dont think so, particularly, he has a few postup against Embiid.

Your claim is flawed, he can be in a championship team only if the star player on that team fits with him. Championship teams require a passing big than he is not a good fit there. Which Eastern team in that category? Celtics, Knicks, etc. are using a passing C

I think some archtypes work on any team, like a 3+D OG type... that fits everywhere. A switchable 7'2 center that will dunk everything in sight? I think that works everywhere as well.

Essengue is a bit slow footed (at least in terms of slashing) and is not much of an explosive leaper. He's is lanky/length af though. If his shot develops, he has high level role player potential with low to mid-level shot creation ability. I think he's fairly tough-minded, which is why I wouldn't mind drafting him, but his ceiling isn't that high to me (i.e. all-star status)

Fleming has less shot creation ability imo and seems like a pure role player. Also an ok pick, but again..I don't see all-star potential, unless it's like one of those Draymond Green, Jarrett Allen type of all-stars.

The team doesn’t do years of scouting prospects and following their development just to feel tempted to take a certain player. They’ll take the player who they think has the highest upside.
