This is the funniest summary of the current state of the “professional” DNC. The left needs to quit with the tribalism. I can’t stand David Hogg, but he would have won the Dems some elections.

I did. Hogg's planned on funding challenges to incumbent Dems, so it's the least shocking thing I've read in a while. Sad fact is the Democratic party plays by a different set of rules from Republicans....whether you think that's willful is up to the individual (fun fact: I do).

Generally speaking, liberals will mother**** conservatives & vise versa in the online space or on cable TV, but a lot of these folk are in the same tax bracket & influenced by the same dark money groups (see Kirsten Sinema & Joe Manchin as examples). These people don't really want change; they just want to stay in power to fatten their bottom lines & Trump is the genius idiot who at the very least knows how to leverage voters' ill will towards them. Hogg is someone who's aware enough to at the very least speak to meaningful change, but folks at the DNC know that the change he either hints at or talks about openly would hit their pocketbooks in due time.

You are correct here for sure.

The saddest irony about what you say about Trump being able to leverage voters' ill will towards them is that he does so to get his supporters to vote for him, but then f*cks them even worse. It's almost like they have given up on actually removing the actual problem of corruption in politics, and instead are resigned to be **** on, but at least guaranteed to be able to inflict more pain on groups they hate. And to be more out in the open about their hatred.

It's very much that President Johnson quote we're all familiar with by now. And it's pretty shocking it still works, possibly even better now.

It's all Trump's fault!

But seriously impressive win for Toronto. Losing their starting goalie hurts, I wonder if he'll miss any time and how long he'll be out for. I don't follow hockey that closely these days, but I just have such a hard time having any confidence at all in the Leafs, I still like the Panthers to take this. Every time Toronto gets their fans hopes up, they seem to swiftly and devastatingly let them down .

Panthers hammered the Leafs 6-1. It's not over yet but classic Leafs collapse so far, losing 3 straight after a 2-0 series lead. Their fans were booing them out of the rink and one even threw a Matthews jersey on the ice .

Yeah am kinda surprised how well Sergei and the Panthers D has been performing so far this series. TOR is no slouch. Cross fingers they can end the series at home.

So far EDM seems to be a lock for the Finals.

Big win by the Leafs! That was a nice response after the last game. Game 7 in Toronto is going to be insane!

He hasn't done a single thing to crush inflation. Inflation was the downward spiral when he came to office cuz the Feds kept the interest high. There isn't a single policy that you can point to that he did on inflation. His tariffs strategy I think is dumb but so far it hasn't caused long term harm predicted. We will see by midterms if it was stupid or it worked. Its a pretty straight foward bet. If manufacturing increases without significant harm or high inflation then he was right.
As far as deficit, he still projected to have a bigger deficit than Biden cuz of his tax cuts. It will all depend on the reconciliation bill which as of now adds more to the deficit.
But it hasn't passed, so we'll see by end of year what it looks like. But I don't think Trump or Repubs are serious about deficit. Neither party has been serious about sound economic policy since the Clinton admin. Every admin has run a significantly bigger deficit than their predecessor. Biden was about even with Trump. Both run more in 1 term than Obama in 2.
We'll see also on the deficit by the end of the year. But I doubt they'll do anything meaningful on that part

Good interview here with economist EJ Antoni. He breaks down the good and the bad of Trump’s economic policies. At the end EJ Antoni notes buyer power has recovered about 25% of the losses incurred during the Biden years. Whether you want to thank legacy Biden’s policies for that or give credit to Trump, I really don’t care. I just care that things are becoming more affordable.

Panthers keep lil bro’ing the state of Canada. They thought they finally bested Florida when they were up 2-0 in the series. Not this round Canada.

Strange as it were being here in Michigan literally surrounded by Ontario, watched this series on CBC and after TOR game 6 victory, seemed as their (Canadian Sports Media) confidence on winning this series was next level despite that game 7 record.

I live 3 hours away from Toronto but I'm a Red Wings fan and have never cared about the Leafs. But almost everyone I know is a Leafs fan, I even know a guy with their logo tattooed over his heart lmao. I've always got a kick out of laughing at their continued hope despite the letdowns that team inflicts on them. But I almost feel bad for them this time ...it's just predictably without fail.

Ahhh I go and catch 4 or 5 Wings games per year (30 minutes away). As much as I've enjoyed the history of Joe Louis Arena, prefer the newer LCA.

Can't say what your experiences with them you've had but as for my encounters with TOR fans, they are not as obnoxious as NYK fandom but are close and feel no sympathy for 'em especially when they lose to their most hated rivals in Ottawa and Montreal due to their WOE IS ME and WE ARE THE TRUE FANS attitude that they are so quick to throw around. Kinda like the BOSOX Fans were before winning titles this century. They will play that last string on that sympathy violin to death.

I watched game 6 on CBC too. There sure are a lot of commercials that point out how Canadian companies are. Canadian Heinz, Canadian McDonalds, etc. Don’t see a lot of companies doing that with US commercials. Not saying those nationalist commercials don’t exist here in the US, but not to the extent I saw it for Canada.
