Looks like Sophie Cunningham is going to be a star for the Fever.
Wow, the shooting was terrible though.

Did you see that mic'd up clip of Clark, Hull, and Colson talking on the bench after that long three pointer? Thought it was kind of funny.
CC: Did it get loud in here?
SC: After you scored?
CC: Yeah.
SC: No.
LH: No one cared.
SC: You got to be better.

This looks like a championship level squad.

I don't know, seems kind of early to make that kind of determination. You'd expect them to beat up on the Sky fairly handily.
Bonner missing layups has been a little frustrating, and I'm still not sure about the defense, but it looks much improved.
They've got a lot of time to gel yet.

Triple double for Clark first game out, impressive.
Bonner moves into third place scoring, all time. Nice.

Re: Indiana Fever 2025
The difference in handle strength on CC is noticeable. Off the bump, off a tight screen with little separation, she’s absorbing contact and staying on stride. Boston looks… heavier? She’s a beast either way though.
Hard to say what the Fever’s chances are. Chicago still sucks, and Angel Reese looks like the exact same player. Tenaciousness off the charts, but man her touch is just weak.
A great start.

While the Sky is expected to be bad and made no argument whatsoever today that they won't be, beating them by 35 points while looking like they have still two gears to go is still impressive.
The Fever are going to be very, very dangerous this season and they might just win it all.

Offense was the same as last year, but the defense is another matter altogether. To once again bang my 2024 drum, Smith & Samuelson were TERRIBLE on defense. Replacing them with Howard/Bonner/Cunningham makes the Fever truly dangerous.

I hope you're right. I'd like to see how they play against some of the top teams first, but this was definitely a fun game to watch.

I like the way Stephanie White told her to go get the triple double. I don't know if Sides would have done that.

What a difference a year makes. Last year the Fever had only two double-digit victories, the first arriving in Game 28. Its biggest victory margin was 17 points. Then this year a 35-point win on opening day.

Having a starting 5 of all stars with Cunningham and Hull off the bench is solid work.
The chemistry i saw between CC and AB was frightening. They both look stronger physically and their two gal game is fairly hard to stop.
It's crazy how last year CC and DB got into it on the court and now they're together and cooking people.

Such is sports. Angel and CC would be buds if on the same team. The only one who doesn't seem to operate that way is Chennedy Carter, and perhaps for that reason she doesn't have a job.

Because we wanted to see it, and CC wanted to get it. I understand the argument against it, but sometimes you like to have some fun. And I like that the coach recognized that some individual achievements can be important, like Bonner's moving up to #3 on the all time scoring list. When they went back into the game, CC told her they would make sure she got it.
