they are really only going to be using 2 more guys then the knicks have until now, prob stops at Toppin and Sheppard(9th man) I don't see Bryant and Walker getting into games. Knicks will extend it to one more player, Prob will be Payne, maybe even Shamet. It doesn't have to be much, even if it's only 10 minutes a game between them. One of KAT/Brunson should be in the game at all times and find a way to play Mitch along with the 2 wings and KAT. maybe bring in Mitch for Hart and McBride for Brunson at the 5 min mark and you go with that air tight defense.

We need to neutralize Turner.

We can't let him roam. He's averaging 2.5 blocks per game in the playoffs.

He's also shooting 45% from 3pt, a majority are above the break 3's. its imperative that we don't collapse and just leave him open or fail to pick him up in transition; it's an automatic bucket.

We should finish Indy off in 5 games.
Finals will be epic whoever we play.

We already know Brunson owns the Pacers but I just looked and KAT averaged 30 and 12 against these Pacers this season including a 40 masterpiece. If we get this version of KAT then this might just very well be over in 4.

Hate this man so much. The fact that he’s trying to play victim is crazy.

Knicks will dominate the rebounds. In the playoffs, Mitch is averaging 6.8 rebounds in 18.5 minutes. That is more rebounds than any player on the Pacers, with Nesmith being their best rebounder at 6.5 rebounds in 29.6 minutes.

That is why OG should be on Turner...Mikal on Haliburton. That should be able to neutralize the Hali/Turner pick and pop.

That puts KAT on Siakam...who isn't really a high volume or typically efficient 3 ball shooter...and he's not as quick as Tatum or Brown who KAT did an ok job switching against. So KAT just keeps Siakam in front of him and we should be good.

I don't want KAT on Turner much

Yeah would rather not have to hear him in this series.

To his credit though when Boston destroyed us in the season opener, he was vocal in saying that this game is not a barometer for how good the Knicks will be. He said after we gel, it's on.

This is an excellent and appropriate defensive strategy, which means we will not see it happen at all.

I thought he has actually be pretty positive of the Knicks this season...my concern is that its just his ploy rooting for this series so that he can do his ole troll Knicks shtick now in the playoffs vs Indy.

before I blast thibs...he did run much more switching scheme vs BOS which I was not 100% sure he would commit to even though it was the right call. So maybe he has woken up a bit and just going to keep KAT out of drop coverage.

Also having KAT closer to the basket for rebounding purposes is very helpful. Turner is used more for floor spacing than offensive rebounding. Siakam plays closer to the basket.

Lets talk some perspective of how good this team is.....

Last years Knicks team was morphing on the fly with a late addition in OG and was absolutely dominant for 25 games after getting OG and before everyone getting hurt. That advance stats show they were literally the best team in the nba over that span (top 2 or 3 at worst).

This years team was also morphing on the fly but for different reasons. A bunch of new parts learning to play together. Bridges really struggling with his role most of year and a huge defensive piece being added with like 10 games left in season in Robinson who needed time to get his sea legs.

Being a Knick fan, I try to allow for a range of scenarios in my projection while being hopeful if there is reason to be (while not letting too much bias cloud my judgment). I have killed plenty of my teams talent in the past. This Knicks team I have maintained would NOT be able to win without Robinsons return playing in a Thibs system.

I did mention that from pretty early on this season as well as saying we needed Bridges to resume his defensive level we saw with the Nets.

Now that BOTH of those things have happened/are happening, the Knicks absolutely have a decent shot to beat anyone.

Will they? I think they beat the Pacers (not 100% convinced but Id say 75% confidence level with a Thunder matchup being more like a 50/50 deal)

Thunder are a darn good team and really really deep. They play suffocating defense at times too. I absolutely think we can beat them though but acknowledge it could go either way.

I agree.

It's moreso the finals series that worries me more if we get there, especially if we end up playing OKC.
