Personal reasons why i want to see them win (and this order):

Brunson - Will be the biggest story of the year; leading the Knicks to a title? That excorcises a lot of demons and courtesy of son of a Knick? Just great story.

Edwards - This young one is already ultra confident in his game, imagine him being a champion to boot? What sort of trajectory does this title bring to his career?

SGA - Another non-US American champion, joining Giannis and Jokic. Should piss off our American fans.

Haliburton - Meh, probably the lesser stars among the stars so this is more of a team effort from the Pacers.

It's between Ant/ Shai for ms as individuals, but I just feel like New York getting one would be huge for their fans and the league. Plus definitely wouldn't mind KAT getting one.

I'm very surprised to see the Knicks lead this poll; the press shoves them down our throats so much year after year that I assumed most folks would have media burnout.

They're my pick, though; I've always bandwagonned them when they weren't playing my Spurs (I made a lot of enemies in my home state when I pulled hard for them to beat the Rockets in the '94 Finals), I love the city, and they're a likeable crew.

Alex Caruso.

That bubble thing is a separate thing.

For the specific poll, I voted Brunson.

Chuck Everett wrote:I want my hometown (NYC) to get a ring, but goddamn are Knicks fans making this hard with their obnoxiousness. The schadenfreude almost wants them to make it to Game 7 in either round and then lose. Still, I'd like to see the Knicks win because all the KAT slander would stop once and for all. I feel the same for Julius Randle/Rudy Gobert (yes, I am partial to the bigs).

It would be awesome for Indiana to join San Antonio and Denver as the third ABA team to win a ring as well (only the Nets would be without). As for OKC, they built their team with excellent scouting and savvy trades. Great organization.

I wanted Curry/Butler/Draymond and Lebron out as soon as possible. Other than that, I had no one else to root against.

Good, people being nice about the Knicks has been too weird. I'm much more comfortable having non-Knicks fans hating on the team

Like any huge fanbase, it's which camp you're going to focus on. If you're going to engage most with the Rhodey's & LFGK's of our fanbase you'll have a different experience than talking to the Cap's, dakomish's, 3toheadmelo's, & Chanel Bomber's.

100% with you on loving to see Karl & Juju shut people up.

Voted Brunson but I also kind of want the Pacers to win the championship, so wouldn't mind Hali at all either. East represent!

Funny how perspective works. I feel like it's a real struggle to find quality content on the knicks that isn't just "lol knicks", "0-10 against the top 3 in the regular season", or SAS screaming nonsense in the bad parody of an actual knicks fan that he plays on tv. While the media talks incessantly about those past-their-prime california teams and other mediocre western conference teams.

In general, I feel like coverage of the east (outside of Boston) has gotten really lazy, with too many talking heads just looking at the conference having 2 more tanking teams than the West and fewer guys that were superstars a decade ago. Ignoring the fun stories like the Knicks, Pacers, Pistons, Magic.

...and the Hawks when JJ is healthy. Though they fall apart without him, they are a consistent .500 team that punches up well anytime he's fit.

This needs an "other" selection. My vote goes to Mikal Bridges.

Jalen Brunson at his size and what he can do as the #1 option is incredible not to mention he was a second round pick. (Without Knicks bias) It would be cool seeing him win.

Anthony Edwards would be my second option he is still only 23 years old. Delivering a championship this young as the #1 option would be impressive

JB and KAT. Also Knicks fans are deserving after decades of embarrassment and mediocrity.

Shai, no question. The most likeable of the 4 in the poll. And OKC reminds me a bit of the young 1980s Edmonton Oilers, led by Gretzky but with so much other young talent around him.

That said, I'm hoping for an Indiana/OKC final. As much as NY has been a feel-good story for knocking off the defending champs and showing a lot of fight, we all know what their fans will be like if they win it all. So my order would be:
Shai
Tyrese
Ant
Brunson
'Cos it's easier to try
Than to prove it can't be done

Edwards as a star

NYK as a team/fanbase

I think OKC will win it though, and become an unlovable borg like dynasty

Indy...whatever
Rest in peace Kobe & Gianna

Wait a second. What's wrong with the Free Throw Clock? Fans heckle opposing team's stars at the FT line all the time. The Free Throw Clock is way less insulting and much more creative than the usual "X sucks" or "X chokes" signs that you usually see. As a Greek guy, I also thought that the Greek Time part was both very funny and extremely accurate. It's definitely accurate for me

As for Hali's dad, I fully agree that he was out of line but he wasn't there as a Pacers fan. He was there as Hali's dad. The two are different. For what is worth, Hali publicly criticized him for his actions (and some people even criticized Hali for criticizing his dad), the Pacers have made sure that he's not going to be in the arena for the remainder of the playoffs and Hali's dad himself publicly apoligized both to the Bucks and Giannis.

So, yeah, I fail to see how either of the two videos you posted paint Pacer fans in a bad light. I'm sure that there are Pacer fans out there that suck (you can find sucky people in literally every fandom/subculture/what have you) but I'm not sure that the examples you brought up here are proof of that point.
