Giannis is not an awkward fit anywhere.

I saw an article stating Giannis is the fifth best trading piece in the league behind Luka, Tatum, et al. It's these kind of analysts who make Horst look like a genius.

Anyone who watched the playoffs who doesn't think Giannis is the best player in the league have no insight. And of course no one remembers Giannis missed two of the last three playoffs or the narrative of his value would be different.

Giannis with the Mavs and Davis (assuming he's healthy) makes them odds on favorite next year, in my view.

I respectfully disagree, both AD and Giannis play the same position and they need a ton of shooting around them to make things work, honestly the fit looks very awkward on paper. And as amazing as Giannis is (only Jokic and healthy Luka are in his league), Mavs would risk to turn into a slighlty better version of the Suns, I mean 3 max players on the same team are no more sustainable.

Dallas would have to give up AD or Kyrie or like half their roster to match salaries, AD and Giannis could play together but AD is always injuries and neither wants to play the 5, Kyrie is out with an ACL tear, their future assets would be spent acquiring Giannis, the FO is shady & untrustworthy. No state income tax would be nice but I think staying in Milwaukee is a better situation.

Made the mistake of listening to Locked on Bucks. Camille negotiated with the Rockets host.

Rockets guy of course said no Amen Thompson. Offered a bunch of crap.

I'm assuming Thompson and Kyrie are healthy for the playoffs, which we have seen once again this year, is the only thing that matters. If so, they have more than enough shooting. Giannis alone takes up so many defenders that shots will be available.

Where would you like to see Giannis play since it seems like he wants to stay in the Eastern Conference?

If it had to be anywhere other than MIL that had the assets in the EC with a gun to your head?

Probably Atlanta. Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels, and Risacher with whatever number of picks.

No one in the East has enough assets for Giannis, while still keeping enough to put a competitive team around him.

We have no idea if he actually cares about remaining in the East (or if he even wants to leave for that matter), but to answer your question, Orlando, Cleveland, Atlanta, then maybe Philly or Charlotte in that order.

Even if Giannis asks out, we can always play hardball with him rather than accepting the best of mediocre offers presented to us. Houston drawing a line in the sand at Amen, Spurs drawing a line in the sand at #2, it's just ridiculous. Cool, guys, then you don't get the top 2 player on planet Earth, enjoy the treadmill.

My favorite exchange that I've seen was a Warriors fan posting "Imagine Steph/Dame/Jimmy/Giannis/Draymond." Someone else asked how that would even be possible, and another Warriors fan jumped in with "If Giannis wants to go to the Warriors, the Bucks don't have much of a choice."

What's crazy is Indy might be best fit but there's no way he'd go there with all that bad blood. I haven't looked into what picks they own or anything though. Put Turner in the trade and go a full blow people off the floor lineup with Giannis at 5. Or I guess another route would be to trade us Siakam and keep Turner as the Brooke type

If I had my preference I probably go with Knicks (assuming they don't win it), let him become an even bigger star and the hero that finally gets a title to NY. Probably go to Orlando after that just because I have no opinion on them in any way and they seem to have a few young guys to go with him

Ironic, cuz I posted that, w/ Mo Gueye - who killed us & on a losing team was +7.5 per 100 better than opponents - saying it was "not TOO bad, IF we had to trade Giannis". And it got rebuked, w/ someone claiming there'd be 20 better offers.

There should be better ones imo, but 20 is serious hyperbole. First, I don't know if 20 teams would even join the bidding. Second, they are Houston-style 2-way players, with a couple having core upside (actually Jalen Johnson's already there). Reality: it's one of the best offers in the east.

Our starters would be ready-made:

Gueye
J. Johnson
Daniels/Risacher
Green/Trent
KPJ/Daniels

That's a play-in to low playoff team off the bat, w/ upside to contend over time if Johnson flourishes even more w/ the ball in his hands, Daniels learns how to shoot, & Risacher keeps leveling up w/ age (had a respectable rookie season for a top pick).

If those 'out for blood' rumors are true with regards to Horst, I kind of like that strategy if you ultimately want Giannis to stay. Hey Giannis, we've got a trade that both sides like, but here is what's left on their roster after...

As soon as they said, “no Amen” she should have said, “no worries, then we’ll trade him to San Antonio or Atlanta or somewhere else because you’re not getting Giannis without giving up Amen. He’s not going to ask to only be traded to the Rockets, lol

This. They could offer those three plus Guyer plus 13 this year plus 22 this year plus 27 1st (lesser of Pels and Bucks) plus 29 first, 30 swap, 31 first, 32 swap, plus 5 seconds.

Now whether they could still contend with Giannis and what is left, that’s their problem to figure out. But those assets are pretty tempting if Giannis wants out and Flagg is off the table.

That would be a fun team to route for and easy to round out the roster with Sims and Tyler Smith being the backup bigs. You’d also certainly get the two firsts the Hawks have this year to draft a couple young guys to churn the bottom of the roster.

Brook and Bobby walk or sign and trade. Prince walks. See if you can flip Kuz and Pat for bad longer term salary to get some of your own picks back.
