That's interesting, if it's true(big if), that might be the first real indication that this time is different

I see that SA trade working out if we trade Giannis. Only if we can fleece them.

Bucks: Castle, Vastle, Johnson, #2 pick, #14 pick
SA: Giannis and Conny(ops in for salarly) or other

They aren’t trading him for peanuts.

I also don't get why they would be looking to trade him. Because he shot poorly while injured in a small sample? They have to be able to find a bouncy big who's good at D without giving him up.
As someone else alluded to, just not enough ball handling duties to go around to keep Reaves happy and he's about to get a very large contract in all likelihood. Lakers won't give him away like that one proposal above is suggesting but if they can get the center they need and some first round picks too, they'd probably do that.

I don't see it. The more guys that can dribble and shoot the better these days. I don't see Reeves as the type that "needs" the ball in his hands to be the lead guy type. Seems the perfect 2-3 option on that not unlike say a White in Bos. A guy that can do it but he doesn't need to be the guy. Add in that LBJ should be load managed going forward, and Luka always gets a bit hurt every year and its good to have another guy who can do it rather than be in MKEs situation the last few years with no one that can dribble vs pressure

But to each his own, I'll laugh if LAL gives away another good player adding to the laundry list of talent they've had and messed up the last 5ish years.

I think it's smart to bring in some guys just in case. But other than Flagg I would consider any of the others a "throw in" to a deal that would have to have some REAL assets included. Not darts to shoot at a huge dart board, most of those guys will never be an all-star or even close.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Ok how about this:

76ers in: Markkanen
Bucks in: Sexton, Kessler
Jazz in: George, Kuzma, Philly 2025 1st (#3 overall), Bucks 2031 1st

Jazz get two good picks plus can maybe move George and/or Kuzma for something over the next few years.

There's gotta be a zero percent chance they'd let that slip (that they're bringing in Top-8 draft visits) before "the meeting" even happens. The early entry/withdrawal deadline is still more than a week away (May 29th). Like 99% of the time, Gery is likely full of **** and just throwing any sort of second hand rumor at the wall.

Gery getting his credentials taken away years ago has led to him becoming worse than a scored ex lover. Maybe I could take him seriously if it didn’t sound like he had an axe to grind in most of his reporting.

I still don't trust him but tbf he was one of the first guys to report of our interest in AJ Johnson.

I also don't see anything wrong with doing our due diligence.

I’d do Kuzma/‘31 1st for Sexton/#21.

Kuzma can lead the tank for the Jazz and we get off of one year of Kuzma and a stop gap for Dame as Sexton has one year left on his deal.

Sexton for our potential top 5 pick in '31?

Getting Kuzma off the team immediately isn't somehow worth conceding a future high pick in the post-Giannis yrs for a mid player. It's not getting us over humps. Kuz can bounceback to career norms, maybe improve w/ a better supporting cast/role, or be benched/traded midseason.

Let me try one more:

Sign and trade Portis & the 31 1st to Brooklyn for Nic Claxton and 2 of their late firsts this year (26 & 27)

The Jazz woud want 5 more 1sts in that deal, and I'm not exaggerating.

Which of these things are more likely? Giannis is expected to be gone (Sexton's not going to save us), or over the hill. The whole reason this pick has so much more value than the typical earlier one is it projects much higher for Milwaukee, Phoenix. That's why Phoenix got 3 1sts for their own '31.

Not ripping on you BUT those players on their own w/o a world-smasher are documented to get you nowhere near the postseason while the picks are a) a middling selection and b) the one immediately (two different flavors of Rutgers tho!) following what's a one-player draft.

Dire.
