I guess this is where to post, among the 4 Giannis threads on page 1 here. I perused the Celtics board last night just to see what they're saying about losing in round 2. The biggest trend is posters arguing about firing coach Joe vs keeping him. Second biggest topic that struck me was a lot of them think they can trade Brown and either KP or Jrue for Giannis.

But as someone above posted, with Tatum out next year it doesn't make sense.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Little has changed on the Giannis Antetokounmpo front — yet — even after seemingly the entire league gathered in the Windy City.

We wrote last Monday that any notion that Chicago would deliver clarity on Antetokounmpo's future was overstated and that indeed proved to be the case.

The Bucks, league sources say, remain hopeful Antetokounmpo will decide against asking to be dealt after a third successive first-round playoff exit and choose instead to extend a career that has spanned 12 seasons as a Buck to date.

Anticipation around the league regarding Antetokounmpo's availability via trade, meanwhile, continues to bubble based on the belief that it is only a matter of time before the 30-year-old finally concedes that a contender can no longer be built around him in Brewtown and that what Milwaukee is feeling is false hope.

The wait for clarity continues.

Look, they got the most assets but Giannis wouldnt want to play there

look at the teams he would have to get through to get to the finals again.

Do the Thunder still trade for Giannis if they win the WCF? If they win the Finals? I'm betting that they wouldn't trade for him if they win the chip... unless they've got some impending max offers to make this Summer. Why trade for Giannis when you have proven rizz on your roster? Why jeopardize the depth?

I mentioned this elsewhere but If he really only wants to go to an East team that isn't gutted after the trade is there really alot of teams who can offer better?

What about RJ, Dick, Shead, 9th overall, and all our picks..

established young player, a top 10 pick promising young player, a promising PG prospect, top 10 pick in deep draft, a boatload of future 1st

that leaves us with:

PG- Quickley
SG- Ingram
SF- Barnes
PF- Giannis
C- Poeltl

Obaji, Walter, Mogbo, Battle, Lawson, Boucher?

that's a contender 100%

I'd even add Walter if I had too making that offer pretty loaded.

Could mean lots of things, including that we are the front runner and they trying to get us to give up more assets. Or it could mean nothing at all

there's a solid chance a top 8 prospect could drop so the 9th pick would still have value for the Bucks.....6,7,8 spots aren't set in stone

if they're interested in a top 5 pick then that's a different story

In the East, realistically, there are probably only 2 other teams that might be able to come up with an offer better or similar to what the Raps could offer, but I don't know if Giannis would consider going, since they are smaller markets: Cavs & Magic.

If these teams are interested in Giannis, I think the primary players going back in the deal are probably Franz or Mobley. So the Raps need to offer up Barnes. It is not just about talent, but also salary matching.

Wonder if out of spite the bucks refuse to trade with raptors. Always felt like they were jealous of the raps org.

Guess we'll see. I still don't know if the raptors are there yet to trade for a guy like him but whenever there's a chance to get a superstar you do it.
