BOS-BRK-MIL-UTA :: Giannis to Brooklyn
BOS get Connaughton
BOS give Porzingis
BRK get Giannis, Porzingis
BRK give Claxton, #8 (drafted), CamT (SnT), NYK27FRP, BRK28FRP, NYK29FRP, BRK30FRP, NYK31FRP, BRK32FRP
MIL get Lauri, Claxton, CamT (SnT), NYK27FRP, BRK28FRP, NYK29FRP, BRK30FRP, NYK31FRP, BRK32FRP
MIL give Giannis, Connaughton
UTA get Kuzma, #8 (drafted)
UTA give Lauri
Boston save $22m
Nets pair Giannis and KP (long time friends) in New York and really just have CamJ, Sharpe, Room exception to build with.
Bucks get 6 unprotected FRPs, Lauri, Claxton and CamT(SnT). I think Bucks look to stay competitive for playoffs in the East.
Jazz get compensation for Lauri.and save some cap.

Re: BOS-BRK-MIL :: Giannis to Brooklyn
I understand the Giannis is friends with Porzingis angle (which I’ve never heard but I’ll take your word) but this value feels insanely good for Boston here. This doesn’t address their biggest financial need of ducking the luxury tax next year to reset repeater rates, but it mostly takes care of the secondary financial need of ducking the 2nd apron this year.
FWIW, I know Giannis is definitely friends with
Jrue. This type of scenario where he’d want his new team to go get one of his friends that’s available for trade would be awesome as a Celtics fan even more so with Holiday instead of Porzingis because that serves purpose in ducking the tax altogether next year and shaving money off the books this year to duck the 2nd apron.

It's not really just that they are friends. Giannis and KP are a very good fit on the court. CamJ in addition is also complementary.
I could see Brooklyn going back for Schroeder with the Room exception too, perhaps DLo is re-signed with Sharpe. Nets have a lot of young athletic players to fill in the gaps.
DLo, Keon, CamJ, Giannis, Porzingis
Schroeder, Martin, Ziaire, Wilson, Sharpe
Daria, Watford, Clowney, drafted players

Let’s do it. BRK deserves a shot!!!
I think all around this is pretty solid.
I could see Bucks wanting 8 and giving Utah two of the 2027 picks instead maybe. But I guess if they value Lauri enough this works.

Re: BOS-BRK-MIL-UTA :: Giannis to Brooklyn
If this trade helps Boston get under the second apron they should be coughing up at least one first rounder.
Maybe they do that and the Nets get to keep Cam T or one of the first rounders this deal has them giving up.

Mediocre picks, Bucks don’t stay competitive at all either. If Lauri can be had for Kuzma + a pick then the Bucks should find a way to put him next to Giannis in Milwaukee. Same thing for Porzingis for Connaughton. Way too good for Brooklyn.

Then Giannis should demand a trade to Boston.

I think Utah gets cut out here. This would just put Milwaukee in our current situation.

Re: BOS-BRK-MIL-UTA :: Giannis to Brooklyn
So the best asset Brooklyn can give up (8th pick) isn't even coming back to Milwaukee and instead they get saddled with Markannen's contract and some way distant firsts that might never amount to anything other than the 20th-30th range? This seems like all your doing is bailing out a team that doesn't have the assets for Giannis. A Lauri/Claxton/Cam Thomas trio isn't even the foundation for a 40-win squad, let alone something the Bucks can build around the next half decade while they cough up lotto picks to New Orleans and Portland. Easy pass.

Can’t combine a CamT sign and trade with draft picks in this draft being traded. Say the 4 teams agree to this at the draft and all draft for each other, and then on July, Cam T says “I want a full 4 year 25% max salary or I won’t agree and you’ll all have wasted your draft picks”. He’d have the power to do that.

In this scenario there is no way they'd want him.

Re: BOS-BRK-MIL-UTA :: Giannis to Brooklyn
I think you can leave Lauri out of this trade. He would be available for a premium asset. Pick #8 is in the 4th tier of players (not a premium asset), and Kuzma just sucks and makes way too much money. That'd be a hell no from me.
