BTW I know lowkey many knick fans are hoping for Minny to upset OKC because they feel we have a better chance at beating Minny. However I would contend that Minny has been a traditionally very bad matchup for Brunson. McDaniel's length seems to really bother Brunson much more so than OKC's physicality. Brunson has had 3 poor games out of the last 4 against Minny and that other game was just solid, not more. Against OKC he has done much better and I feel like Mitch/KAT really have a bigger advantage against Holmgren,Hartenstein than against Gobert/Randle/Reid.

OKC does not have that type of high volume shooting big that Minny has in Reid and that bully guy with Randle. Holmgren can shoot but he is usually more a low volume shooter that needs some time to get his shot of. I think that OKC frontline would be destined to be handled like Cleveland 3 years ago. I also feel like Mikal would be able to deal much better with SGA than with Edwards. Edwards is a freak athlete that just bursts by people while SGA is more methodical. Ant also hit like the most 3 pointer in the league.
And also J-Williams may be exactly the type of player that could have a poor series being first time in the finals at such a young age going up against OG.

I don't know, I feel like we'd match up better with OKC. The downside would be having no HCA.

I wouldn't mind Russ on a vets min on the Knicks to take Cam Payne's mins. Russ brings a lot of energy off the bench plus he changes the tempo of the game. Its just would he be ok with only playing 8 mins in some games.

Thibs values spacing as much as he values defense. It's why he won't play Precious and Mitch together.

He also values players who take care of the ball and have extremely low assist to turnover ratios.

Take away Luka, who made it last year, and the finalists are all the elite perimeter/ de facto PGs who are managing the ball and offense … and only Brunson is a normal sized one

Tatum a bit different but can be thrown in there; we took care of his finalist / semi-finalist status

If you’re an elite perimeter player dominating the ball, you’re at the top of the league … with extra points for size
