Portland has no incentive here... There is no financial relief and it blocks the young backcourt from developing.
Get to pay for the older (albeit historically better) player -> and get to move down in the draft for that privilege...

If Jrue was an expiring - I'd think about it.... but as is, it's an easy no.

Portland shouldn’t be moving back in the draft and blocking Scoot’s minutes for an old, rapidly declining Jrue. I’d rather work directly with the Wizards for Smart.

Hate this like poison.

Trade a terrible contract and a lotto pick for another terrible contract so POR can win 41 games a year for a few years and get bounced out of the playoffs in the first round every year.

Just awful.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Holiday isnt nearly as terrible as grant and he helps you guys win. Figure playoff experience would be helpful for this young core to see whom to keep long term but point taken.

Fine moving down a few spots in the draft to get out of Grant's contract, but it has to be for an expiring. If Portland doesn't mess it up- please, hold the laughter, you'd have Grant's contract wiped, Ayton/Simons/Timelord/Thybulle and several of the rookie scale contracts all up for negotiation with max cap space and another two lottery picks in the fold.
I don't have a cool avatar image because Dame came home.

Actually, I think Celtics may trade a future first along with Porzingis to get Ayton. Ayton would fix Celtics inside scoring and when motivated he is going to make Celtics perfectly balance inside and out.

I think Jrue would be a great mentor for the Blazers, but Grant/11 for Khris/18 makes sense also.
