I haven't yet seen the evidence that WNBA teams can win by going small. There's still so much post play, unlike with the NBA. But sure, the lineup is worth a shot. If ever there were a 4 and out lineup that would work in the WNBA, that would seem to be it.

i think it's definitely worth experimenting with. for the longest time in the NBA, post play dominated and then the game evolved because of the various rule changes and players got so much better at shooting and 3's are so much more valuable than 2's.

i think there just hasn't been an engine in the W that can run a space and pace but i think CC has the talent to do it. also there just hasn't been that many good 3&d role players, but the fever potentially have 2

Bonner is looking washed right now. Maybe at 37 she's just slower getting into game shape? It's more important to have her (and everyone else) peaking in Aug-Sep than May. For now, I'll cut her some slack but I would put Sophie in the starting 5. I'd also like to see Timpson get some minutes. She can't be worse than Bonner's goose egg and Turner's perfomance last night.

ATL did expose a weakness with the Fever: They don't have the bodies to defend other bigs in the paint. Give credit to the Dream for attacking that weakness.

The Fever as a whole just seemed out of sorts all game. It looked to me like all the offcourt drama got in their heads. And that is two games now where they came out of the gate half asleep. Oh, and 16 of 26 on FT won't win you a lot of games.

Given all that, they still almost pulled out the win in the end so there's that.

Do people understand how difficult a triple-double in the WNBA? Instead of blaming CC, why not hold Sky's defense accountable for allowing it to happen? The discourse surrounding the league has become ridiculous.

There are too many people who look for drama instead of hoops and they're really not fans if we're being honest. They only care when it's controversy.

Dave Portnoy is a racist piece of crap who harrasses Angel Reese on social media and he has nothing to do with CC. So he bet 25k on her racking a triple double. And? I would do the same thing if I had 25k to blow on a prop bet because Clark is an elite passer, and excellent rebounder at the guard position and she's not scoring single digits. CC is gonna rack multiple triple doubles this season, that's not an outrageous bet.

I really hate this garbage. I wish Portnoy would stay away from Fever games, he's a drunken, racist scumbag. CC attracts too many weirdos unfortunately.

Well, they'd better figure it out quick, because they play the Dream again tomorrow in Atlanta. The Dream look like they're going to be tougher this year with Griner and the other new players they added.

If Howard would have made even one of her four free throw attempts, it might have made a difference. No points from Bonner doesn't help either. Oh well, on to the next.

Defense and rebounding killed us all game. Had that been more under control the free throw issue would have been mitigated. I hope Bonner and Howard are just slow starters because through 2 games they seem a step slow. Could be one or both are better off the bench; im sure they will step up come playoff time. The big 3 did what they do, got buckets. Indy still needs more consistency from their role players. There will be open layups and shots, just have to knock them down.

I like that White was using Caitlin as a screener since Atalanta was playing her tight all game. It worked; just need more reps to develop team chemistry.

Gotta think that Cunningham starts at the #3 when she returns, because she's a good 2-way player who can fill the role just fine, and while Bonner was at one time even better, she's 37 years old. Play Bonner half a game off the bench, keep her fresh for the playoffs.

Dammit, so much for that undefeated season.

Statistically with the games CC and Boston had, it's hard to believe we lost. Seems we need another big, real big big. Play Boston some at the 4.

I would give DB and Howard a few games to get going, but ATL was all over the Fever defensively. I underestimated them deeply.

They need to use some sort of different strategy.

Not fouling on every other Dream shot would be a suggestion, too.

Well, that Indy-Dream game was painful. I know that I have never seen a game with that many offensive fouls called, ever. As for the game play, Bonner remains mostly MIA (although she did get some rebounds). If she doesn't pick it up, the ponytail duo will take her minutes, because they look a lot better. And for the first time this season Natasha Howard showed why Indy got her. A very good game from her.

The main takeaway is that the referees seem to be calling moving screens and other off-ball fouls more strictly than last year, and the players haven't yet adjusted. Painful to watch.

in the other game tonight, the Liberty are giving the Sky a thorough spanking. Well, I guess that's no surprise. The Liberty are it and the Sky are very much not. Angel Reese is scoreless (on 0-8 shooting, yikes) with 7 minutes left to play, so I assume no double-double for her tonight.

Yikes, that was a tight game. I think we have a genuine rivalry in the making here. These two teams play each other close.
Thankfully Howard turned things around 180 degrees from the last game, and it was nice to see Cunningham on the floor again.
Surely she has the best hair in the league.

On a more serious note, an incredibly frustrating game for both Clark and Boston who simply couldn't get going with all the fouls being called.
Natasha Howard showed up HUGE, and Cunningham is going to be a big difference in these ugly games this season I feel.
It's getting harder to justify giving Bonner more than 10-15 minutes off the bench... But obviously it's still early in the season.
Overall, not a game Indiana would have won last season and an ugly win counts the same in the W-L sheet so take the W and move on to the Liberty game on Saturday.
