Magic/Lakers Trade = Knecht.

Post#1 » by SlimShady83 » Wed May 21, 2025 5:11 am

Many think a straight up trade of Reaves and Wendell Carter JR works fine and this got me thinking today what about?

Magic Out: Wendell Carter JR
Magic In: Knecht, Gabe Vincent

Lakers In: Wendell Carter Jr
Lakers Out: Knecht, Gabe Vincent And If need 2 srp's?

Why for Lakers? I think everyone knows why haha - also we free up rostor spot.

Why for Magic? 2 solid rotation players who can be Inserted Into line up when foul troubles/Injuries occur etc

If need I'd be ok throwing IN 1or 2 second round pics :) not sure how many Lakers have left.

Also many Laker fans think Knecht can be allstar type of player, I'm not quite sold on him at least not yet and think he'll be used as a trade piece.

Poll just for fun :)

I don't think Orlando would do this. They have a lot of centers but only WCJ is a starter. This feels more like a deal for Goga + maybe 25.

Would have to be Milton instead of Vincent for salary reasons, if it was Goga

Orlando is looking for “proven” offensive talent. Knecht would be another Howard experiment (despite obviously being a better shooter).

Orlando has limited tangible salary fillers so don’t see them trading Goga for another project (especially considering that they have x4 picks in the draft).

I know this has been beaten to death, but something around Reaves makes a lot more sense and actually think LA and ORL are good trading partners.

Are they tho? Imo wcj isnt what la should look for in a center. So its basicly franz and paolo, and i doubt magic let them go

nobody seriously thinks Carter for Reaves straight up is fair.

But this deal does nothing for Orlando. Their center rotation is already weak and now its worse for a guard they don't need and a low level prospect.

Yeah...that's a Goga deal. ORL could add some minimal salary match like CoJo or Harris.

I don't think LAL can make a WCJ package without Reaves (I understand that ORL adds value to match) unless ORL already finds another C somewhere in a bigger trade.

It had been said some where here, that some people had said that Reaves would be perfect for Magic and a straight swap for WCJ would be fine. I'd try and find It, but might be a bit far back.

Wanted to see If we can get him with out trading Reaves, but I guess that's not an option?

Lakers not just looking for one center, think they'll end up getting 2 :), maybe not tier 1 centers like they really want but more tier 2 type.

You never know...they don't listen to me

but they've really minimized Goga this year, despite his playing very well when WCJ was out...I think that WCJ's excellent ability to defend on perimeter switches is pretty critical for Mose's defense. That's the kind of stuff that fans (including me) probably underestimate when we're counting rebounds and blocks.

I think WCJ would be perfect, could use him as a back up or starting center depending who else we/Lakers get.
Anyway I'm off to work, will try and comment when I can at work but not always possible.

No thanks on Carter for Knecht.

I would absolutely do Carter and multiple draft picks for Reaves, but I think LA will hold out for a better big man than Carter (although Carter is very underrated by Magic fans).
