Brown would never be salary dumped like that. If they were to trade him, they'd be looking for maximum return, not cap relief.

They should do it, but they won't because Stevens has this irrational thing about Brown. It's sad, really.
JB has tons of value around the league. You have to capture that value if you trade him. If we were talking about keeping three guys of Derrick White's calibre and JB was a casualty of that, then at least it would have some logic to it. But Al is done as a partner for Tatum, Jrue will be cooked in two years and KP, though we love him, ain't reliable. We aren't sacrificing Brown to keep those guys.
The most charitable interpretation is that it's ethnic cleansing and massive war crimes.
