Simple trade:
Wiz trade:
Smart (expiring)+Gill (expiring)+Bey (two more years at 6 million per year) for Jrue+(Washington gets the right to swap 2026 OKC/HOU/LAC 1st (Washington currently gets the least favorable amongst these three picks) for Boston's 2026 1st rounder (top 6 protected))+Boston's 2031 unprotected 1st.
Why for Boston?
1). They shave Jrue's last two years off in essence (Bey has 6 million more after this upcoming season) to save a ton of future money while getting a capable Jrue replacement they know well in the expiring Smart and a bounce-back 3&D wing in Bey (who took off the previous year rehabbing from an ACL) on a really cheap deal (two more years at 6 million per).
Why for the Wizards?
1). They gamble on a couple of future lotto picks in essence with the 2031 unprotected Boston 1st and swapping from a very low 2026 1st (worst amongst OKC, LAC, and Houston's 1st rounder) for whatever Boston finishes next year. They'll pay Jrue to sit while trying to flip him later in the year.

Same as the Utah thread. Way too much value asked for imo. Especially since it doesn’t even offer year one savings.
If Dallas is willing to do Gafford and Klay… if Charlotte is willing to do Nurk and Green. If LAL is willing to do Vando+Vincent+Rui.. etc
Boston could clear that salary in follow up deals a lot cheaper than this.

Re: Wizards/Boston: Jrue+picks for Smart
Don't see this for BOS. Their payroll situation is fine for 26-27 and 27-28 seasons, but those are the years they're shedding money here with very minimal savings at all in 25-26. That's the year they need the savings in.
Holiday for roughly the same amount of expiring money in 25-26 isn't a deal construct that's going to get a premium asset for BOS because it does really nothing to address what their dire financial needs are. Their 26-27 and 27-28 cap sheets don't need major salary dumps so that's not what they're going to pay up for.

Holmes has only 250k guaranteed for this upcoming season. You want the Wiz to pay roughly 80 million for 28th pick in this draft while tying up future years in Jrue's salary? They only paid 20 million in the Smart deadline trade to get the 18th pick in this draft. That idea really doesn't work.

Ah cool, thanks for the info. No biggie. If I were Boston, I'd just trade a future unprotected 1st with KP to Brooklyn straight up into their cap space if they need to shed money ASAP. That's probably the cost considering no other team could do such a such.

The Wizards are just the wrong team. Your asking price is based on him being dead salary Washington is eating. The problem with this is Jrue remains a quite useful player. Other teams would trade for him with the intention of benefiting from his services and thus wouldn't charge anywhere near this.
They'd also help Boston save money this season which you chose not to do for some reason despite there being no reason to deal Jrue now if they save no money now. If they are willing to spend all that money this year, have the good player and let KP expire next year.
