Happy for SGA though

My vote was still Jokic but I can’t argue much with the selection. SGA is a real killer and was locked in from game 1. One hell of a season for sure.

Congrats to SGA! Being the second best player in the league is a huge accomplishment!

SGA won far more games, and putting up big numbers on a losing team was not a recipe for winning mvp in the past. Jokic already won two with poor records, you can't make the award a farce by giving it to him again.

Are you and Optms related by chance? Cause I've never seen you two do anything but constantly slander and hate on Jokic on this site. Literally nonstop. It's like y'all are the spokespeople for every salty Lakers fan  . It's hilarious.

1. SGA won far more games because he's on a far better team.
2. Jokic wasn't on a "losing team." They were literally the 4th Seed and 1/2 a game away from being the 3rd Seed.
3. Jokic has never won an MVP with a losing record.

Hope this helps.

I’m 99.99999% convinced they are the same person.

Which would be somewhat of a relief because it would mean only one person has such bewilderingly and consistently awful takes opposed to two people.

I don't even know who you guys are talking about. That said, being on a 3rd or 4th seed as an MVP is being on a losing team, because you are losing to the teams above you in seeding. If you're the 4th team your team is losing or it would be the first seed. No excuse to win MVP unless you were historic like WB's trip dub season.

Nice. The MVP voters decided they did not need to change how its been down forever to gift jokic another MVP.

I'm not in agreement on this award and it would seem that, despite incredible production numbers, Jokic is being robbed and probably because of award fatigue. He's the first player in NBA history to finish a season top 3 in PPG, APG, and RBG... but still doesn't win.

And I'm no fan of either, so my feelings are straight down the middle on this one.

I don't hear it mentioned much so I'm not sure how useful it is but Shai had the best combined win share at 16.7 with Jokic second at 16.4. The next closest was Zubac at 11.7.

Team records are very much a team stat so there are some issues with making that a key criteria. I personally don't think Shai was more valuable to his team than Jokic was to his. OKC has a much better supporting roster. Jokic's win share as a percentage of his team wins is much higher that Shai's as a percentage of his.

I think the best argument for SGA is games played. 76 games of SGA helping his team win 68 games is more valuable than 70 games of Jokic helping his team win 50 games.

The voting suggests Mitchell will make the All-NBA First Team. I wasn't expecting that.
