This game was like drugs for me.

-All the overconfident Knick fans talking ****
-Entire Knicks team collapse
-Silent MSG
-Brunson and KAT choke on the last 2 shots
-Haliburton choke sign

What more oculd you possibly want

No need to over-react. The Knicks had this game well under control until the collapse in the end. Have to compete the full 48 minutes the rest of the series. The Knicks are still the better team.

Isn't this what all the Celtics fan said last round lol.

You think the Knicks have that mental fortitude to overcome a long playoff run only to lose in the Finals in a disastrous fashion? IDK man.. it'll have people re-thinking to blow it up imho.

I don’t see why not. They have a really solid team. I’m about to list some teams just in recent memory who have lost and came back and won in a very small amount of time. Yes, these are great teams I’m going to list but I think NY would be able to

Heat in 2012
Spurs in 2014
Cavs in 2016
Warriors in 2017
The Heat making it back to the finals after losing to LA
Boston after losing to GS

That’s just the last decade+

Sometimes teams get so hungry after losing. I don’t see how NY would be different

New York doesn’t have Lonnie Walker

He’s in Philly

Celtics said the same thing. A win is a win. I don’t think the Knicks can run with the pacers like that, and I don’t think the pacers will miss so many 3s like they did before the 4th quarter run.
Knicks played really well in the 3rd and to begin the 4th. I thought they were “lucky” to be up at the half.

You have a lot of examples.. and the majority of those teams had All-Time great players on those rosters. Miami at the end showed to be one of the worst multiple time finalist in NBA history and they eventually traded off their main guy in Jimmy Butler. Boston had two really good swing men that are multiple time All-Stars and weren't defensive liabilities along with one of the best defensive role players of All-Time in Jru Holiday and Derrick White and a bunch of solid guys who played their role exceptionally well. Knicks just aren't built like that. It appears they're missing a Jimmy Butler type player imho that can get them over the hump (which are rare to find imho).

His in-game adjustmens worked like a charm as well. To bring Ben Sheppard in the game for the first time in the 4th quarter and then to go small against New York's big lineup were two adjustments that worked way better than expected.

I felt Sheppard was better than Mathurin

He was. He made a heck of a pass under pressure to Nesmith for one of his 3s.

Did Carlisle purposely save him for the 2nd half? Felt like a serious outcoaching job there that went unnoticed.

Didn’t Celtics fans say the same about your Knicks after game 1?

Probably yes.

But now back to this series, obviously the Pacers needed some miracle shotmaking to pull it off. That most likely will not happen again. Still would put my money on the Knicks.

Hali is a big wrestling fan. He loves playing the heel when he's on the court.

He's a frontrunner. Talks mad **** when things are going well, quiet as a church mouse when things are going poorly.

No denying his clutchness, though. Each game winner/tyer more ridiculous than the last.

I hate him as a Bucks fan. Ironic since he's from Oshkosh and was almost a Badger. But respect the magic.

A lot of people talk **** when they are losing??

The Knicks where getting away with murder on defense. Its clear who the NBA/refs want to win.

Rooting for the Pacers, but it's going to be tough winning 8 vs 5 in a series.

Clear Goaltending and the foul on OG the last few seconds of the game, what are you talking about? lol

The "foul" on OG where he completely flubbed a wide open pass and then when he grabbed the loose ball in the air got cleanly packed by Siakam, got the call for some reason, but then had the call correctly overturned upon slow motion video replay?
Is that the "foul" you're complaining about???

Knicks played an almost perfect game in my opinion, and then they got a little complacent, gave the Pacers just a bit of daylight and just like that the Pacers closed the gap like Secretariat at the Belmont. To beat this Pacers team the Knicks can never relax. Indiana's offense is just too explosive. The Knicks couldn't miss in first half and it felt like they should have been winning by double digits. Then you look at the score, and the Pacers are only down by a few points. I kind of felt then at the half it was going to be a weird game.

Some of the playoffs have not been great. But Indiana and New York throughout it all have not disappointed in the entertainment factor. Just great joy to watch.

I don't think that he purposely saved him for the second half. I think that he just saw what was working and what wasn't working and then decided that going with Sheppard is what gave us the best chance to come back. He's great at in-game adjustments.

Except none of that is true. Even Stephen A Smith tried to kill that narrative last year. Saying at MSG he was talking **** to everyone before the game even started in the playoffs series.

This is one of the dumbest narratives in all of sports.
