The Spurs have Wemby. They don't need 37 yr old KD to give them anything marketing wise. If old man KD was the big draw you think he is then the Suns wouldn't have been 23rd in attendance this season (behind the Spurs at 18th). You also seem confused about how teams get revenue. National TV games are part of the TV contract for all 30 teams. Having more games on national TV doesn't give the teams on TV any additional revenue. Nor do jersey sales go to the team.

Well, you are not gonna admit that you were wrong about it, sad but pretty common. Have a nice day.

I'm not wrong. KD is 37 before he can play for the Spurs, which is the player they're trading for. They're not trading for the guy he used to be.

It's really weird that this poster seems intent on "correcting" you on this. It's not like there's any difference in marketing when it comes to Durant's age. Such a strange hill to die on.

He is 36 years old, it's not that difficult to understand. Just take the L with dignity and move on.

He is 37 when he starts playing actual games for them. Who cares what age he is before he is even able to play for the team?

Durant is 36.64 years today, he will be 36.74 years old by the time of the draft (earliest Spurs could trade for him) and 37.06 years by the start of next season (the earliest he could wear a Spurs jersey). So for all practical purpuses, Durant is much closer to 37 than 36 as far as Spurs are concerned.

2025 #14
2026 better of SA and ATL 1st's

Why for SA: Kevin Durant. Yes, the age range would be pretty wild - but a team with Wemby, Durant, and Fox, serviceable pieces around them (Castle, Barnes, Sochan, Champagnie) plus the #2 pick is a contender for the next few years. At this price, why not?

Why for PHX: Durant's time with the team has pretty clearly come to an end. Can they do better than two serviceable players, a late lottery pick this year, and a reasonably high upside pick next year? If they can, they should, of course, but I don't see that market developing. Maybe they can get one more future first out of SA? Probably not a deal-breaker if it's one of SA's own picks in the not terribly distant future.

Take out thr future pick and it's fair. KD is 37.

Why are the Suns making that trade without the future first?

And he is still very good at basketball.

For a trade, it has to make sense for both teams. If the Suns think they can get more elsewhere, they should do that.
