SGA is the best player in the league imo. This should also be his second MVP imo. Not here to argue I said what I said. Congrats to SGA and the thunder.

Luka is rather entering in his decline so you might have to exclude him from your list.

Nah, he just got traded to a new team mid season. And the supporting cast isn't very good. Not to mention a 40+ Lebrin

And I'm no fan of either, so my feelings are straight down the middle on this one.

Award fatigue is a real thing. Happens to all great players. Do you think LeBron was only MVP for four seasons?

Enough of the who actually deserved it talk we do every year with MVP. Shai led his team to 68 wins in a highly competitive western conference. He deserved it and deserves his flowers.

Congrats to the new king -

No none MVP is on this guys level-

Only Giannis and Jokic can claim to be better at this point - because they got 2 and 3 mvps

He came in second last year and 3rd the year before - he is definitely deserving -

Over the last 3 years only people ahead of him in mpv votes was Embiid and Jokic- no one else in the league beat him… this isn’t a fade or a fraud- he is one of the top 3 guys in nba period

Not necessarily. A lot of it, regrettably, is popularity.

The nature of the award is supposed to be about the most valuable player to their team. Jokic is definitely that; SGA to a far lesser degree.

But, alas, fatigue is the play, so now we have FTA.. er... SGA.

Congratulations.
I had Jokic winning it but Alexander definitely deserves it too.

Jokic is definetly that but SGA is alo definetly that. The value of SGA shouldn't decline because he is in a better team. And they proved everybody that they are the best with 68 wins, it wasn't a close race for the 1st seed.

And when the performances are this close you need to look at the seesding of the teams and the resume of the candidates.

Maybe the mvp shouldn’t go to someone who gets ended by Alex Caruso?

It's well deserved. As a Canadian living in Europe, this was one race that had 2 winners.

Both would have deserved it, I don't have any problem with this, whatsoever. SGA is the rare all-time great who did not look like one until the age of 23-24. He looked like a very good player. He must have worked so hard, and so many hours to get there. Superstars usually look like superstars at 21-22. He is the rare exception. Jokic might actually have been similar in that, now that I think about it. 7 international MVPs in a row, that's amazing. Hopefully Luka can be in really good shape next year, and maybe Wemby joining the hunt too, this could go on for a while. We could get to 10 in a row for sure.

Well deserved. Would be well deserved if Jokic won it as well. Sometimes that's the case. More wins, more games played, and the wish to recognize a new MVP tilted it in SGA's favor.

Shai looked like a superstar at age 21-22. It went under the radar because he was playing on a tanking OKC team that was shutting him down with dubious injuries for most of the season. For anyone watching, the skill set was there. Back in 2021, Shai was getting into the paint at will, scoring efficiently from everywhere on the floor, defending, and playmaking. I felt it was clear this was a top 5 guard hiding in plain sight, and I wasn't the only one. It's just that most people weren't watching OKC, which is pretty fair considering how aggressive the tank was.

Well deserved. He is on top of all the impact metrics and lead his team to a historic season.
Top 5 in voting all makes sense then it gets pretty weird though.

I would have voted Jokic but there is no denying SGA’s greatness. Congrats to OKC.

Also, crazy that SGA, Jokic, and Giannis were all selected out of the top 10 in their drafts.
