LAL - Orlando - Brooklyn
Apologize if this iteration was done before
LAL trade: Reaves, Kleber, Vincent
LAL receive: Claxton, Black
Orlando trade: Anthony, Black, 16
Orlando receive: Reaves
Brooklyn trade: Claxton
Brooklyn receive: Anthony, Kleber, Vincent, 16
Why for Brooklyn: eat some salary to get a mid 1st for claxton
Why for Orlando: Upgrade offense and dump some salary to try and avoid tax
Why for LAL: add PoA defender/backcourt partner to Luka and a rim runner
LAL trade: Reaves, Kleber, Vincent
LAL receive: Claxton, Black
Orlando trade: Anthony, Black, 16
Orlando receive: Reaves
Brooklyn trade: Claxton
Brooklyn receive: Anthony, Kleber, Vincent, 16
Why for Brooklyn: eat some salary to get a mid 1st for claxton

Why for LAL: add PoA defender/backcourt partner to Luka and a rim runner

I don't like it for BRK...I think LAL owes them something...fair for ORL, great for LAL, imo.
good framework though.

Re: LAL - Orlando - Brooklyn
Valuations are way off...
Reaves is by far more valuable than anything in this deal..
I'd replace Vincent with Vando, and kick back late pick (#27?) from BK
Don't know how much Brooklyn want a pick in this draft
Still don't like it for the Lakers
Reaves is by far more valuable than anything in this deal..

I'm at work in carpark about to start lols.
I'm probably one of few people who don't want Claxton for Lakers, I'm just not a fan of his contract and if Lakers sign him that basically means we all in with him? Unless we can work another trade with Rui or maybe sign Gafford in FA, just not a fan
None the less I do like Claxton just not his contract.
I'm writing another thread about Reaves and Lakers Center when I get home and have time later today.
Peace out

Depends what 1sts, Reaves is a lottery talent, the other 2 aren't.
And Claxton isn't worth a 1st with expiring matching, that's why Vando should be the matching.
Black hasn't shown a good trajectory (except when he plays the Mavs SMH...), the 1st he's worth isn't a high one.

This just gross value wise for the Magic. They give up a pick in mid teens and Anthony Black for a white D'Angelo Russel who will demand 30+ million dollars per year after next season. Keep in mind that D'LO will be quite lucky if he get anything than a vet min in Free Agency. I also do not like this from the Nets. They can get a 1st round pick from another team without taking on bad contracts. If not, They may as well keep and see about status of Giannis or Trae Young.

The Nets are getting a first round pick for Claxton.
If they are also taking bad contracts pick # 16 would seem light.
Even taking on bad player on expiring contracts could be a benefit to other teams by helping them clear the dead weight from their roster now.

Brooklyn sucking value out that belongs to LA. I'd start by having the Nets kick back both of their late 1sts to LA. Claxton is negative value on that deal. They also take back some negative salary and he is the best player of that group so letting them move up feels okay.

Russell and Reaves games are quite different. Just because they both played for LA..... And Russell will get more than a min this summer I suspect. Too many teams too desperate for PG help. He's not great, but does some things well that teams value.
And you are pretty bullish on Claxton. Curious which teams you honestly believe are sending better contracts and a 1st for him? I can't think of one.

That's basically what I'm saying. They can get a 1st round pick for Nic Claxton without taking on bad salary and if I'm wrong and they can't, they might as well keep him and see if he can rebuild his value or pivot towards making win now moves instead.

Such a wide range of valuation for Reaves (and Claxton). at least nobody is complaining about Orlando's part (yet)..

I think the value is fine. Love it for Orlando.

Re: LAL - Orlando - Brooklyn
I think Claxton is too small (in size) to compete against the elite centers of the West, there is a version of this that I like a lot (without NETS).
Reaves/Knecht MAGIC
Magic solves their most obvious problems in one fell swoop, they select a center with Denver's FRP... will any Sorber/Beringer be there?
Goga/Black/Maxi(Cut)/16+Future FRP (Magic) JAZZ
draft Johnson at the 5 (I think he'll be there) and get a defense-oriented partner in Black at 16+ his 21+ something to pick again in the lottery, avoid having to pay Kessler and replace him with Goga just 2 years older and locked into a bargain contract
Kessler/Sexton LAKERS
Reaves/Knecht MAGIC

I do not think the Nets want 5 picks in the 1st round nor these players for Claxton. The Nets would likely not do this for those reasons.

i do not see magic interested in expiring reaves at all...magic need a pg that might sign for around 20 mill a yr..not a guy that will want to walk

The problem with Brooklyn isn't the value, I think theybare getting too much, but timing, they don't need a 1st in this draft.
Black can vary in valuation, but Lakers are downgrading the level of the player which I don't think it makes sense for them.
I think the league is at a point where tanking trams are saturated with picks and teams that want to contend are out of them, and it makes trades challenging.
I'd argue teams like BK, UTA, CHO and WAS need to send excess 25 pick, not add to them.
