I honestly think it's a good thing that happened. Fans have been getting a little too ahead of themselves. I saw we are naming streets after players for achieving...conference finals appearances? Time to come back to earth.

I know what you mean, the sting is still there. This loss felt like two games worth. To a point that I think we need to win Game 2 and 3 to get back on this series.
My only positive thought is that OKC suffered a similar heartbreaking defeat to Denver in Game 1 and another one in an OT loss in Game 3 but managed to get back and win the series. If we are their deserving opponents in the Finals (not counting out Minny yet though), then we must recover from this one like they did.
Just have to respect the Pacers, who are as clutch or maybe even more so than us as they have a more creative offense down the stretch.

There was no bright side to last night. That was the biggest Knicks collapse in a significant game that I can recall in decades. Absolutely brutal!

I rather they get humbled earlier rather than later.
Looking past the Pacers like they don't exist is crazy. Not saying the team itself is doing that but it is easy to fall into the media and fan hype.

He should. Hope he watches the last 40 seconds of regulation over and over and over again. I'm shocked at what happened because it was in his hands, the guy who always saves us, and he blew it.
I can see why some people believe in the rigged conspiracies, especially with players getting caught gambling recently. 5 point lead with 40 seconds to go, he just became....someone else, someone we have rarely seen, especially in the playoffs, closing minutes of the game...blunder after blunder, it was like he was afraid to hold the ball or was just trying to throw the game away. He isn't afraid of the ball, so wtf was he doing just dumping dumb passes like that.
40 seconds. We can harp on the last 3 minutes...but it was all lost in 40 seconds when he decided instead of running the clock down, he's going to pass it to OG, and then again he runs into a double on the sideline, something you never do, throws a dumb, dumb pass to Hart that OG luckily got and put OG on the spot again when it should have been in his hands.
Have no idea wtf he was thinking or doing. We can blame Thibs all we want, but until 40 seconds he coached them to a win and all his point guard had to do was secure it, he literally just had to stand with the ball and run out the shot clock, Pacers would've had it down 5 with 15 seconds in the game....they could do nothing but cut it to two at most then they could've played the free throw game with a comfortable lead if Pacers missed.
So this loss is entirely on him....was a cone on defense all night, played the foul baiting game all night instead of his game, collecting 5 fouls before the fourth AGAIN, comes in and helps Niesmith go off and then just wet the bed at the end. But if anybody can bounce back, it's him, but until then, he has to eat **** for this one till Friday, and deservedly so.

Tough loss, thankfully I stopped getting too annoyed by sports twenty years ago. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

can the knicks recover from this embarrassing choke job? even when the pacers were down by double digits i saw mcconnell and others laughing on the bench. game 2 is probably going to be another high scoring game between both teams, now the pacers know they can come back from a huge deficit at msg and win.

Yeah the win was pretty much secured but Brunson turning into Julius Randle gave the game away. Uncharacteristically because he’s been so good in those clutch moments so I have no idea what happened. Was he sitting on the bench too long? Who knows but that wasn’t captain clutch. Even with everything going wrong down the stretch we still had chances to win, one free throw from OG or KAT would have changed the outcome.
They can’t change anything about game 1 but we can definitely play better in game 2 and I don’t see why we can’t take at least one in Indiana seeing as how we have done well on the road

Very disappointing loss at a bad time.
Nothing is easy for us.
I still believe we can finish these bums off in 5.
Halibutt just became public enemy uno in NY.
GTFO!

I don't look at it as a good thing but I think it could potentially be a good thing it's up to this team where their final fate will end up. Either you get better from this or you don't.
I have had concerns about our careless mistakes such as missed fts and turnovers, we have championship grit and heart but no championship focus. Hopefully this will be the last straw and end to this lack of focus.
Deservedly will be on the but end of jokes plastered across social media. If we are a serious championship team we will rise above this and defeat the Pacers in 5 games.
You had an opportunity to put it away and overcome the Pacers 3 pt barrage and crooked officiating and you still have this opportunity. Take care of business it doesn't matter what the Pacers or officiating does to us.

this is the real problem if you want to acknowledge it. not just for this game or for the playoffs but for the whole season. the starting lineup doesn't work. most people blame josh but i wouldn't say it's his fault really. he might just be the easiest guy to bench.

Yup, used to feel like death. I was surprised at how now, being 45 years old, being in this position for the first time in 25 years and blowing it like that, my heart wasn't even pumping. I used to have anxiety for days after a loss like as if I had something to do with it.
Anyway, ate a good meal, walked the dog, pumped the wife, slept good. On to Friday.

I feel like if you substitute Deuce or Mitch for any wing or forward, it’s at worst a neutral +/- lineup. Any time I see Deuce or Mitch out there, the team is doing a lot of different things that win games.

it's not just defensively either, offensively somehow the starting lineup isn't that good
