He’s often too occupied with stumbling & bumbling hunting fouls than making the right basketball play.

He has a gaudy stat line but played sloppy undisciplined basketball.

One of the worst 40 point games I've ever seen. This loss is on him, and I love the guy. When he started doing his shenanigans in the third, I got worried.

I get it, it's part of being a killer, and I even smiled at his antics a few times. When these guys start hacking he baits them, especially against guys who are "Brunson stoppers", so I'll give him that, you gotta take the good with the bad with Mamba Mentality sometimes, but his turnovers and time management at the end.....shew.

Toss out everything, we were still up 5 with 40 seconds. We would have all signed up for that, but Brunson really choked this one away by throwing a lob pass to OG, where we lost the ball after the review due to semantics.

But I have faith in the kid, and that's the great thing about him. Unlike dudes in the past, he's gonna sit there and own up to it, and do what needs to be done next game.

Sucks to lose what was going to be a perfect game. But there was a lot of....serendipity in this game for the Pacers. From the 5 threes by one guy who didn't show up all night, the lucky bounce, OG getting nailed in the air but no call because the ball was touched first, the missed goaltend....every one of those things had to happen together for them to pull it out.

They still ain't ****....we got this. On to the next one, be safe guys.

We have seen some perfect storm type comebacks by teams in all our sports....but man...if this was a movie script they'd throw it out because it was just way too far fetched.

This was crazier than Arnold Schwarzenegger breaking into that base and killing a 100 soldiers single handedly to save Alyssa Milano in 'Commando'.

Neismith is about to get Game 6 Derek White level locked up next game. This is guaranteed. Also, OG was definitely nervous on offense. He needs to get over it and start finishing. The Pacers are leaving him open and he's just clanking. I expect him to bounce back. Mikal is still erratic, but we need the 4th quarter Mikal we were getting in the previous 2 series. I can't imagine he just disappears like that. Finally, Brunson does not turn over the ball like that. He'll do better.

You guys are all missing that Thibs is making mistakes that make investing in this series anymore masochisitc

So what if we play well, there is still not competence in the coach’s seat

You think 0g is suddenly gonna be healthy and spry? We have to play well enough to win and overcome the lack of sound coaching? Ship has sailed.

Tom’s error rate is not gonna just come down overnight, that’s not how these things work. If he just challenges one of two plays (a ball that was off Pacers that nobody noticed, Nesmith being out), we may win.

You can’t overcome your opponent and your coach. It’s a lost cause. Mitch coming in and playing like it’s a joke or scrimmage is on him too.

if they are planning to match pacers pacing, then they have to expand the rotation

Whatever it was, it looked like it may have been squashed when KAT was talking to OG at the FT line for a minute.

I'm not going to read too much into this. Just a miscommunication probably on the court at a bad time....

However, these two dopes both missed key free throws at the end of the game. If either of them makes one the game is likely over with a win. KAT did the same thing in the Detroit series and OG has a nasty habit of missing key free throws going back to the Philly series last year. That's the more worrying part to me.

This team has found itself in bad spots before and crawled it's way out. There's no reason to doubt them now no matter how catastrophic this may seem.

They just have to keep it in perspective and realize they dominated the game for 45 minutes and need to finish. Find a way to win 2 out of the next 3 games and you're back at home with a best of 3 to make the finals with 2 home games. I believe in them.

No it’s called letting your foot off the gas. Getting too comfortable to almost being bored and not being as sharp and focused as you were earlier in the game.

Yea they weren’t as sharp n focused as earlier in the game but it ain’t because they were bored… who gets bored in an ECF game at MSG?

You can believe what you want, but there’s a reason the pros are calling it what it is and why most of us here been warning about it all season. Players talk about how difficult it is to play up until this point in the season all the time, now imagine doing it with all that extra mileage on you from the season of 7-8 man rotations 40+ mpg. Not rocket science. Google it.

But what’s done is done, and our guys just gotta dig deep, dial in, focus and fight thru it til the end. Thibs gotta be better too

Who said they were bored? You have to read more carefully.

Your fatigue claim has been proven false over and over again. If what you say is true then they would have folded numerous times and never advanced this far. Yet they always do the opposite, they come back and play better. You don’t come back playing better the next game if you are truly fatigued. These mistakes are not fatigue related and when they play better again next game you will again be proven wrong.

You specifically said “they were too comfortable to almost being bored”.

It’s not “my” fatigue claim lol it’s professional NBA players claim.

When has it been proven wrong?

Just because they win doesn’t mean it’s not a thing. That’s spoken like someone who clearly doesn’t get it.

No team has ever come back from down 14 points with 2:45 minutes left to go either until the Pacers did it last night.

IMO Wright playing could help a lot. Their pressure on Brunson led to a lot of the late unforced errors. We need another player out there who can act as a release valve on the pressure and cut down minutes on our key guys with the frenetic pace Indy prefers.

Plus he doesn't chuck early in the clock like Payne.

Payne vs. Wright isn’t where we lost. Brunson just has these dumb games sometimes, and each time in the post game he’ll say something like I just need to stop turning the ball over, which is obviously true. We let our foot off the gas too early, it was clear, we know it, they know it. Once you let up, it’s hard to turn it back on. That’s how we got Boston twice, that’s how the Pacers got us last night.

I hope so. We were an underdog vs. Boston and came out punching. We are favored vs. Indiana and came out weak. I hope that’s not a mental thing, but Knick PTSD says we need to always feel like our back is against the wall. Every little bit of motivation.

As an OKC FAN looking forward to playing one of you guys, I just wanna say that was the greatest game I’ve ever witnessed and I’m an old ****!

There’s absolutely nothing to be feel sad about. That was an amazing **** battle and you guys kicked ass. It just sucked that someone had to lose. If I could watch a last game that’s the one I’d pick and hopefully I would just die with three seconds left keeping the suspense for all eternity!

Do not shake your heads for even one second. This might be the greatest series of all time the way both teams are playing!

Absolutely enjoy every second of this magic! This is why we are NBa fans!!

Didn't know this took place... has this been posted

Read on Twitter

KAT was on Nesmith, and OG was on Siakam with the ball and he handed the ball to Nesmith and screened KAT, OG was late to switch to Nesmith who made a 3 with 34 secs left

Why was KAT on Nesmith in the first place??

A good team has open conflicts but not get carried away by them, you can see JB telling KAT to shut up to prevent KAT - OG from escalating

I think this game will put a sense of urgency in us for the rest of series/ playoffs... we definitely got too comfy and satisfied when we had 9 pt lead with 1 min left
