Especially when the rationale is they are hamstrung in the short term and need help building their team.

"No ****, we did the trade specifically betting that this would happen."

Unless what is happening with Terry in Miami is making other teams think Charlotte's top players are big fish in small ponds and will look terrible om actual playoff teams with expectations.

Miles posting bull on Insta killed any value he had. he still looks like the same broken character who got suspended a year.

sam dracula and hornetslead discuss their rankings for who is most likely to return
where do you disagree?
personally i think moose and tiddy are more likely than miles. other than that, no real disagreements.

Is Julius Randle a realistic FA option if he opts out?

Even if he wanted to come here, realistically we wouldn't have the cap space to sign him (and pretty much no one else does either). Seems unlikely he'll opt out.

Yeah thought it was unlikely, but thanks for confirming. I wasn't sure about our cap situation which is why I asked. :D

i can definitely seeing him opting out after these playoffs, he will want to cash in.

Brooklyn is the only team that will have cap space though.

I think the ship has sailed on getting Randle. We had numerous opportunities over the past two years to trade for him when his value was low. The trick for the Hornets is not to sign guys like Julius now but to find guys that are at their low value. Who are other former All Stars that maybe haven't been performing as well as expected over the past two years for whatever reasons? Go after those dudes and hope you don't make a colossal mistake.

i dont want him unless he was a bargain, but i think at the least he will find a new contract with Minnesota. He has to cash in on this run.

There is zero reason we need an overpaid vet. We need Josh Hart, Malik Beasley vets.

There was a time 5ish years ago when randles value wasnt high and I suggested trading kaminsky and filler for him and was told on here that it wasnt needed or it wouldn't make a difference.

i think it was early last i said something around Randle for Bridges when Randle was first struggling to mix with Rudy, and someone called me crazy.

its funny how players value changes due to their situation.

Would be a good vet for Melo and the team. I assume he'll go ring chasing but I guess there is a slim possibility that he has an interest in returning to North Carolina for his final years

I've wanted Chris Paul in Charlotte for years. He was huge helping both SGA and Booker take leaps in their development/career.

I absolutely hate Randle's game. There's just something about averaging only 7 rebounds per game while taking contested threes that doesn't sit right with me.

it's a complete toss-up whether you get good Randle (doing what he's done most of this playoff run) or garbage Randle (who doesn't play to his strengths and turns into a pumpkin when his 3-ball isn't there)

I wouldn't want to commit any type of long term money to him. Two years tops

i was throwing his name around before, but he will go to a contender. If all else fails, I think he's Dallas fall back to run the show till Kyrie comes back

Does he have any juice left? He seems slow and washed

he's got more left in the tank than Tony Parker that year with us. Given how awful our backup PG situation has been over the years, it would be very nice to have CP3 in there
