They quickly agreed that Raynaud was the best shooting big man and the most overlooked star in this draft. I think he'll end up in the lottery after being the best player in the combine scrimmages on top of his dominance in the ACC.

Tre Johnson is a phenomenal shooter and tough shotmaker as well as a better playmaker than he is credited for and could/should go #3

But the BEST shooter in the draft is...Koby Brea, a 6'7 SG from Kenutucky, who didn't even make the NBA Draft Room mock and Tankathon had him going to us at #46. That's just the kind of swing I like in the second...could be another elite role player for next to nothing. How does a 6'7 SG from Kentucky, (even if he can do nothing else) who shoots lights out, be so unheralded? I'll take a one tool guy with that kind of size as a srp any time.

Saw the mock.... but overlooked him. haha. Will check him out.

Edit:

;t=102s

He didn't touch rim till like the 7th 3 pointer in the video. gheez.

He’s got that smooth, automatic looking shot like Houstan. Moves pretty slowly, but still fluidly, like Kyle Anderson. Great at using fakes to get himself open from 3.

His reels look pretty good and not just a spot up guy...handling, passing, etc...and then you factor in what a nightmare the SEC was to play in.

And...underrated guard from Kentucky is a proven thing.

I honestly didn't know about him at all, when I listened to the pod, I figured he was some 5'11 kid from SE Oklahoma Tech or some ish

he sometimes disappear when the game is on the line though. I watch UK ball sometimes and there were games where he reminded me of cointossRoss.

TBF, based on the games I saw, he had more heads than tails compared to TRoss

I think a couple of teams drafting between 9-15 would trade us for our 2 picks.

Asa Newell is probably better than I first gave him credit for. I'd have no problem giving him Isaac's spot in the rotation.

Hope we trade one or both our picks. Our draft pick isn’t going to change our results next season.

Say we are on the clock and we select Jase Richardson and then immediately we learn there has been a trade involving pick 16, JI and Cole to Portland for Anferee Simons, would you be mad?

I would be thrilled. For one, I love the idea of not taking a rookie at #16. For two, trading two bench players and a pick that will be a bench player IN TIME (and would be a 3rd string scrub in the coming year) for a starter is a value upgrade.

Ideally that would be followed up with trading the #25 and both SRPs for a backup wing (or two).

Overpay... hardly we all know JI and Cole are washed. Draft Coward or Walter Clayton or Maxime Raynaud if neither are there trade pick with SRP's with whoever isn't named Paolo, Suggs or Franz for Cam Johnson

From an assets-management perspective, of course Anthony, Harris (SnT), and #16 for Simons is a better trade than Anthony, Isaac, and #16 for Simons.
But Anthony and Isaac for a trade is not a bad trade. And if the Magic is serious about "defense for offense", well, we might actually expect Isaac to be traded.

I still think JI will be an Xfactor in our title run and at 15 M/yr, this is a bargain, time will tell, but saying JI is washed is just silly

Again, I agree with you. But: we fans need to accept that Isaac is tradeable for an offensive talent.

Defintily not untradable :-) , but would be a shame to give up on him after a healthy season :-)

Portland at 11 screams here. For Simons and the 11 in a deal that includes the 16, the 25, Howard, Anthony and "somethings else", this seems very doable.

Kasparas Jakucionis at 11 is a player I could kind of accept the Magic using (wasting?) a roster slot on for a rookie. In time, he could be an NBA starter.
