Kings/Mavs/Clippers
KINGS
In: Washington/Marshall
Out:DDR/KINGS 26(top 7 prot)
The Kings adjust better, get two wings in their prime
Monk/Lavine/Murray/PJ/Sabonis
Carter/Ellis/Marshall/*LaRavia/JV
PJ is a good fit at the 4, being a very good defender and rebounder for his position. Marshall is like a DDR (worse) but with better defense. He'll provide secondary creation and scoring off the bench.
CLIPPERS
In:DDR
Out:Bogdanovic/Dunn/K.Brown/30
They get what they were looking for with Bogdan but several levels above, scoring + creation, also DDR is an iron man normally available to play, which serves as an insurance, to try to conserve KL
MAVS
In: Bogdanovic/Dunn/K.Brown/30+FRP KINGS 26(top7 prot)
Out:PJ/Marshall
PJ is less necessary with Flagg on board (and an expensive extension looming). Marshall made some statements supporting Luka recently, I'm guessing the vengeful Mavs front office will have his name underlined (this is probably nonsense). The Mavs plug a couple of holes for this season, but most importantly, free up money and acquire assets for the future.

No way the Clippers are trading that for Demar; nor should they trade for him at all. This seems to be a trade designed only to help the Kings.

I am higher than this on PJ, but if I go by consensus it's a good deal IMO

Re: Kings/Mavs/Clippers
Honestly, I don’t want Demar. But I’d rather take Demar here I think? Dump Hardy and Powell to have the space under second apron to fill out bench.
Adding another rookie contract and filling the extra couple roster spots helps the Vegas guys, but I would go with adding the talent that might/could help Dallas stay afloat through Kyrie’s recovery. Postseason will be up to other guys being healthy, other guys developing..
I didn’t play with it and know it’s not what OP has in mind.. But you could use 30 to dump Klay in some three team trade and probably duck the tax completely. Maybe need to dump Hardy or Powell for a true vet min using future second(s)..

It's not what I would do, but if we want to compete, I think you need Klay's spacing/shooting...
Would Miami be interested in DDR? (Cut Mavs) Something like Rozier + Jovic for DDR?
Or
DDR + FRP 26 (Kings) .. MAVS
PJ/Marshall .. KINGS

I don’t really want Demar either but I think you do that trade to get the future first and hope Sac conveys a play-in lottery pick to Dallas?
I don’t think the follow up trade would be to dump Klay like that. Hope ownership feels pressure to agree to pay the tax due to the lottery luck.. Just was pointing out a really easy way for them to save a fortune without gutting the depth completely.
Miami should be interested in Rozier and minor value for DDR. But I would not trade any of their three decent prospects for Demar.

Re: Kings/Mavs/Clippers
Why would Dallas dump two really good pieces that compete hard for however you spell Bojan/Bogan? The guy is one of the worst defensive players in the league. The only reason to have thought of bringing him in was because he's Luka's buddy. That ship sailed in February and will never return.

I'm not interested in giving up a pick for the package the kings get. If the kings have to add a pick to get marshall I think we would rather just get Martin instead like in the tons of other trades that have been proposed.

The pick is here because it’s PJ instead of other matching salary..
PJ is more Monk value territory than Demar, right?

I think collecting assets is as close to rebuilding as Dallas will go. So I like all of these ideas that don’t fully help the team, but improve the future around Flagg… Think if Flagg is a star, the team is going to need to do a volume package at some point due to their current lack of assets.
(Would cut LAC out of OP though)

I wouldn't spend a pick on PJ either.
There are better players to be had if the kings are chipping in picks. The typical trade that gets proposed a lot is PJ and martin for DeRozan which I think seems fair for both sides.

Without the 1st Mavs have no reason to trade PJ here.

I don't recall seeing Washington for DD being posted? But I don't see how Dallas fans like Washington/Martin for DD though I agree it seems perfect for the Kings.
I think if Washington is in that deal, Dallas says you have to take Powell/Hardy as the rest of the matching because now there are Martin minutes available and Washington is already more valuable than DD. Then Dallas asks for a pile of 2nd rounders to grease future transactions with since they have none.
Maybe you are out at that price, but I think that's the closest to getting PJ using DD and even then I'd hope Dallas did something else.
You want Washington, its going to need to be Monk. And if you don't want to do that cool, Dallas will just have to look elsewhere.

I will just say, the majority of Mavs fans don’t want to trade PJ for Demar without getting paid for the swap. Some don’t really want to do it with incentive, as you see in this thread..

Sac only trades its own picks for franchise altering players, not basic role players. If Perry moves Sac picks for role players he won’t be able to walk around town and just enjoy the weather for long. People would be pissed and vocal about it.
