Re: Giannis Thread
Worst case scenario is trading Giannis to a team where he wins a bunch of ring eclipsing his legacy here while our stupid ass FO falls flat on their stupid **** faces leaving us **** for the rest of the decade regardless of the poo poo platter they get back. Seems like the most likely scenario with a Giannis trade, remember who is calling the shots on this team.

Spurs got enough to land Durant if the Suns trade him. Durant would get them in the playoffs at the very least.
Hope that report is true that Giannis did not request a trade in the meeting. He will have an easier path to the Finals being in the East.

If if if Giannis hinted he’s be cool with being traded. Is this spurs deal realistic at all?
Castle Vassell Sochan salary fillers 1.2 1.14 and our choice of three future firsts of theirs for Giannis!
They keep Wemby and Fox obviously along with Keldon Johnson presumably. Is that too much or could we pull that off realistically?

Loading the team up with guards around Giannis is honestly the best path forward. Keep like Sims for when you need a big or when Giannis isn’t on the floor.
What are the odds we can keep KPJ and GTJ?
That lineup of those 2, AJG and Giannis was a problem.
And best when Bobby was the fifth.

Seriously? You think we could get like Keldon Johnson as “filler” as well (flawed game and all but still someone id gladly take in this aforementioned deal) and what else?
Man, if I can get Castle, Vassell, Sochan, Keldon, Harper Jr at 1.2, whomever at 1.14, our choice of the spurs owned three future firsts, I am ok dealing my favorite athlete in any sport of all time.

On realm trade checker:
Castle, Vassell, Sochan, Kelson Johnson
for
Giannis, Connaughton, Umude, Livingston, Nance
Works on trade checker.
Send us 1.2 (Harper Jr) 1.14 and the Spurs best three future firsts and I am ok sending my favorite athlete of all time out west to chase another ring.
Thoughts on this proposal?

Nah. Spurs fans are saying Castle and 1.2 are untouchable in a trade for Giannis because they have literal worms in their brains.
True value for Giannis is everything you mentioned above but the pick package should be 1.2, 1.14, 2.38, 27Atl, 28 Bos and SAS swap, 30 best of SAS/MN/DAL picks, 31 sac and SAS swap rights, 32 SAS, five more seconds, they throw in Barnes so the Bucks can ditch Kuz, and the rights to all seven of their draft and stash dudes. The Spurs will select for the Bucks during the draft so the trade is official after the draft which opens up that 32 first.
And even that is an underpay for arguably the best player in the world. But at least the Bucks would have the following picks:
2025 2, 14, and 38
2026 Worse of their and Pels
27 Atlanta’s
28 Second best of theirs, Portlands, Bostons, and Spurs
30 best of best of SAS/Dal/MN and worst of their and Blazers (so two firsts)
31 best of theirs, SAC, SAS
32 theirs and SAS
Five more seconds
Plus whatever picks they get when they flip Barnes and Pats expiring to another team that needs to ditch a longer term contract this offseason.
And plus whatever they get next offseason when they do the same with Dame’s expiring.

Wow this is a great point too. What if he's ultimately remembered as a Maverick or whatever?
Like Ray Allen the Celtic.

Where would this Bucks team top out?
There is no difference whatsoever between being a 45 win team or a 30 win team. And especially not worth chasing by selling the greatest thing to ever hit Milwaukee.

That's not the same. If Giannis won multiple rings with another franchise, it would probably make him more universally revered. He has given us 12 seasons and everything personal or team wise that the game could give. Allen, uniquely, had equivalent levels of success in all 4 places. Some younger fans may only know about him from his Miami days...

Certainly not the exact same thing. But if the media pumps footage of his other championships into his career highlight reel (and they definitely would), then it's likely most people would begin to associate him with that team over time.
Also not the exact same thing, but do people regard KAJ as a Buck or a Laker? Do people even remember he played in Milwaukee?
And in this era with even shorter memories and attention spans?

This could go either way. Is Reggie White and Eagle or a Packer? Is Shaq a Laker or a Heat?
Clearly KG embraced Boston as his legacy.
A big difference though with Kareem is time. 6 years versus 12 years. And Giannis loves Milwaukee. Kareem always wanted out to NY or LA.

Giannis met with Bucks. Not only did he not demand or request a trade but Giannis expressed his eagerness to move forward with Milwaukee and win another title.
Let's see how the media spins this now.

Re: Giannis Thread
I'll believe he means it that he wants to be a one-franchise guy when he signs the next extension 18-months from now, and that should be the entire goal of this organization. He'll be 32, have played 13-seasons for the franchise that drafted him, won 2 (hopefully 3) MVP's and a championship, and even if he were to be traded during that last extension when he's 34-35 years old, no one's going to remember him as anything other than a Buck no matter what happens for the last 4-5 years of his "Jordan Wizards/Olajuwon Raptors" stage.

Reggie White is a Packer. I think people most remember him running the Lombardi trophy around the Superdome.
Shaq is a Laker, but definitely not a Mage (or whatever the singular form would be), despite beating Jordan and leading the Magic to the Finals. Wade was the bus driver for the Heat, so Shaq isn't thought of as such.
If Giannis wins 3 more titles in 6 years, ESPN will make sure to not even show Milwaukee highlights, and the General Board will argue that his first title should have an asterisk because covid, injuries, or whatever. And if the general public can't even remember things that happened a few years ago, then there is no chance with Giannis' full legacy.
Giannis loves Milwaukee now. He also loved Jason Kidd. He'll grow to love wherever else he goes.

That's why it pisses me off when Kareem shows up here periodically when he's selling a book or has some other business thing going on he's wants to promote. He can pound sand.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
